I do just some experimentations.
It takes some times but once finished, you can do more easily whatever you want. But you can also do mistakes more easily (like cartoonish moves).

Here's how I did it, since most people seem to have different techniques.
About 30cm from the screen, I went full-crossed eye. Then I refocused on the picture. You must see a third one between the two.
It used to be really fucking blurry, but I managed to make the blur go away by relaxing, keeping my head from moving and concentrating on the details.
Seeing the third pic took me about ten minutes, but unblurring it took at least forty minutes of practice.

Just relax your vision. Getting further away from the screen can help too. Stabilize your head and stare at the picture hile trying to relax.

I feel like i could make a guide for this:
You need to cross your just just the right amount to see the third image - Try putting your finger inbetween the two halves on your screen, then focus your eyes on the tip while moving it towards your nose until you get a feel for it.
Youll see four of the picture when you start to attempt this - cross your eyes further until the two inner images meet in the middle and become one.
Once you can actually see the third image, just relax and give your eyes some time to adjust to it. You dont need to stare the whole time, just blink normally and relax.
Final note, this is far easier on smaller pictures (achieved by moving away from your screen) or just simply making them smaller. The wider a picture is, the further you have to cross your eyes, making it more difficult to clearly see the third picture. The easiest way to see them with clarity is to start with tall skinny pictures that arent very wide, then slowly progress until you can comfortably see ones that take up your whole monitor.

1) Save file. Change extension from .jpg to .jps

If that doesn't change anything, it's not your problem. Read every tutorial that was posted in this thread, try everything and practice until you lose interest or you manage to do it, whichever comes first.

are you looking at your nose to move them to the center? I don't do that and I'm able to move the images without them changing focus. Try going cross-eyed on some text and then reading it — if you can do that you can do images.

One thing I forgot to mention is that you'll have to save each one in the 3DS's file naming system or it won't recognize they're there. It goes in the DCIM folder (like most digital cameras or phones), then some subfolder. It'll be the same one used for all pictures taken or saved on the 3DS. The filenames have to be "HNI_####.MPO", with the #### replaced with a sequential 4-digit number. For example, the images in this thread that I converted were named "HNI_0040.MPO" through "HNI_0069.MPO", since all previous numbers were already used by files already on the 3DS.
If you upload them somewhere and then navigate to them in the browser and hit "Save", you don't have to deal with this. It'll name them automatically then.

It's as simple as clicking File -> open stereo image (making sure "Swap Left/Right" is checked), then File -> Save as MPO. It's because he didn't have a New 3DS XL when he made the older images so they weren't optimized to be viewed on the New 3DS XL. That's why he made updated versions of the old pictures for the New 3DS XL now that he figured out how it works. Though he only did those for the decent quality ones. So those that aren't working probably aren't worth looking at.

For those of you having trouble with this I have an [almost] surefire way of getting it to work. Take the single blade of a pair of scissors [or other thin object, has to be maybe 1/3 the width of your pointer finger] place this blade in front of the screen in between the two images and slowly move it towards you [Your screen shouldn't be too far away but you shouldn't be right in front of it either. Once you see a blurry third image stop. This will take a couple of tries but it shouldn't be to hard. Slowly move the scissors out of frame and focus on the third picture. There you have it. You will know when you see it by the way. If you're unsure you probably haven't gotten it yet. It will be very clear. I suggest trying with this image here because you can fullscreen it and it is static:

So i had to copy the image I wanted to see in steroscopic view, open it on paint, make it smaller,center it to my screen and put a black background but I finally did it.
