So if I built a raspberry pi torrent box and hid it somewhere with free wifi, like mcdonalds or my public library, would that technically leave a trace of anything? How could I SSH into it to tell it what to do and get the data off without leaving a trace? Could I use a separate raspberry pi as my SSH device and then download the data from the torrent pi onto it and then just take the data off manually from the pi later? What are my options for anonymous access to this torrent box hidden on a network somewhere?

Just one raspberry pi, and do this:
>Download your torrents over public wifi to raspberry pi over ssh
>extract raspberry pi (or media storage device that is attached to the pi)
>transfer to your computer WITH THE INTERNET DISCONNECTED
>take out pi, reconnect internet, replace pi to public wifi location

Cameras, fingerprints. You also have to power it and keep it from being discovered.

I would buy a cheap laptop from craigslist and would use a live usb to sign in to open networks.
