I'm trying to get Onenote on my raspberry pI so I have a dedicated computer for taking notes. I've bought and installed Exagear and managed to install wine through that, but now the onenote installer is telling me that I need a newer version of windows.
Is there anywhere I can find the install files for an older version of onenote?
Can I encrypt one of my boot partitions with Veracrypt so that it asks for a password if I try to boot into the encrypted OS in GRUB?

I have a GTX 970 and a triple monitor setup. This causes my GPU to high a high core and memory clock even while idle which translates to 55 - 60c idle temperature (with no GPU fan). I know these temperatures are nothing to worry about for a GPU in terms of gaming but what about 24/7? How negativity will 55 - 60c be compared to 40 - 45c idle with dual monitor?
I'd prefer not to turn the GPU fan on but if it's better to have the fan on at say 10% and have lower idle temperatures, is it worth the wear on the fan to do so?

I disassembled my 2 year old notebook for the first time today, cleaned it, changed the thermal paste on both CPU and GPU and then put it back together. On the first try, the power led, fan and DVD turned on, but the screen was black. I then checked two connectors, powered it up again and the led was on, but the fan didn't start anymore.

The C++ Programming Language 4th edition by Stroustrup is good if you already know how to program. It is designed to be useful both sequentially as a tutorial or randomly as a reference. PC randomly shuts down
usually happens when i play GW2, last time i was months ago, today it happened twice within an hour. doesnt seem to be linked to CPU/GPU, sometimes i play for several hours with so much stuff on screen that my fps drop to 8-15 but the crashes are usually during regular gameplay where i walk around not doing anything demanding
speccy and co. cant into correct temps but from feeling my heatpipes I'd say the PCU was about 40-60 °C at that time (any more and i would have burned my fingers)

sometimes my Asus laptop has a "meltdown":
video and audio freeze, input has no effect, only solution is turning it off.
Sometimes it doesn't freeze immidiately but does 2-5 mini-freezes(mouse and apps stops, audio glitches) within few seconds that lead to the final freeze.
Temperatures are fine, windows 8 "check for disc errors" options that i can access from C: properties finds nothing.I disabled sound card once and it still happened.
There is no pattern to be found ( there seems to be not a program or action that triggers that) but it seems to come in clusters ( happens 6 times in day then once or never in the next week).

At home I have a openvpn server, and pfsense running as the network firewall.
Is it possible for me to get the firewall to direct a connection on port 443 externally to openvpn's normal port internally?

The touchscreen on my OnePlus 1 broke, and I'd like to be able to disable the alarm clock. Currently it goes off every morning (even when the phone is fully turned off) and the only way to stop it is to shut it off by holding down the power button. Ideally I'd like this not to happen when it's in the mail for repairs, for fear that it will be flagged as a bomb.
So to remedy this, I need to either:
a. Disable the alarm.
b. Lower the alarm volume completely. (It won't let me lower the volume while the alarm is ringing, and lowering it at other times only affects ringer volume.)
c. Enable Bluetooth. (So I can connect my already paired wireless keyboard and shut the alarm off using that.)
I'm running CyanogenMod 12. I have Pushbullet installed, but I don't think that will let me do anything. I can install apps wirelessly through the Play Store website, but I have no way of launching them.

Why is it not possible to 'hack,' for lack of a better word, the original source code out of an application or game to modify it in anyway you want?
I understand there is open source software that you can fuck about with, but why can't we mess around with the rest? Surely if something like Denuvo is close to or has been hacked then surely something like MGS1 on PC could be 'hacked' rewritten and modded by an experienced coder who understands that shit? Compiling isn't a reversible process. The compiler will do things to optimise the code for the machine that make it unreadable to humans. All the variable names and data structures that define objects in the source code are gone; all you're left with is seemingly unstructured memory and primitive operations.

The other day I started getting this "buzzing" noise in my headphones. It's a pretty consistent pattern. It kinda goes like this.
1 (short) 2(long) 3(short)
But sometimes it changes.
It's not very loud, but it's loud enough to hear pretty clearly. I remember something about possible radio interference from when I was younger. I'd hear it coming out of the speakers pretty often.
Anyone know what it might be? Happens at around the same time each day. Only comes out of the right ear piece.

Its too recourse intensive even for the most powerful CPU+GPUs this gen.

Another thing worth noting is that 1080 actually looks good on 4k monitors, which is unusual. Most of the time if you are running a monitor at any resolution other than native, it looks like ass. But because 4k is exactly 2x vertical and 2x horizontal of 1080, content scales unusually well. Basically instead of having 1 pixel be 1 pixel, you have 4 pixels doing the exact same thing.

SeaSonic's generally pretty good. Use your stock cpu fan. No point buying a custom one when you're not overclocking. Even windows 10 keys are usually cheaper on places like kinguin.

On windows 10, every now and then when my computer wakes up from sleep the log in prompt doesn't appear. After a short time, the screen stobes between black and my accent color with a loading wheel in the center. A few minutes after that things work. Anyone else experience this?

I've changed to a 1TB WD and I've changed the case and MoBo to ATX (and a MoBo that supports OC). Honestly, I'm super in the dark when it comes to CPU cooling aside from OC = liquid cooling. I've decided to stick with the 970 for now, I think the card will perform fine for what I'm looking for at the minute and I will upgrade once I get a job again and I'm able to make a bit more of an investment. I know I haven't put the fans on yet either, imagine they're there.

I recently completed a new build with an AIO cooler (Corsair H115i). This is the first time I have used one and my temps are very high. My cpu and mobo are around 60 degrees idle. Could it be that I did not mount the cooler properly, or is my cooler busted?
For reference, the cooler is running at about 30 degrees according to Corsair link. I'm running my cpu at stock.

You still need a I5-6600K to be able to overclock.
The I5-6500 is a locked CPU and you cant overclock with it.
You should get a better HSF if you plan to do some good overclocking like NH-U12S, the 212 EVO will work but wont do wonders with it.
Never buy last gen GPUs, specially the GTX 970.
