Dear /g/

I need a reader cuz reading all these pdf's on my monitor is really annoying.

What I need is to
- read mostly technical pdf's (compsci, math, physics, etc.) (or convert them to epub if possible)
- has to be ez on the eyes (eink)
- budget up to €200
- is able to use pirated/torrented epub/pdfs without problems

using https://github.com/koreader/koreader, I'm thinking of the

>Kobo aura h2o 6.8 inch €180
best screen with best contrast
bad pdf support

>Pocketbook Inkpad 8 inch
big screen
better/decent pdf support
worse screen quality compared to above kobo

>Icarus Illumina XL 8 inch
big
best pdf support
worse screen quality
most expensive while not that much better

is Kindle a viable option? Can you hack that shit and circumvent their ecosystem?

I have a kobo glo hd, and while it's great for epubs and books it's terrible for pdfs. The same goes for all eink readers in my experience.
They're simply not fast enough to handle pdfs satisfactorily.
Converting to epub will be terrible.
Just get a basic 10-inch tablet.

what if you directly buy/download the original/official epub/kindle technical book, will it handle it well?

I am also interested in an ereader that works for PDFs. I looked into it before but I only found a few weird models capable that all got discontinued. I remember Sony Digital Paper System 1 was one, here's one on indiegogo https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/13-3-inch-android-e-reader#/ most of the ones big enough for pdfs are discontinued or extremely expensive.

this LCD has no back light, is high res and reflective. Instead of a backlight, they have a mirror behind the LCD display which reflects light back through it. I think this is a screen similar to the original gameboys, they had no backlight. I wonder if it is possible to modify a monitor to do this and if it would look good... does anyone know if it would work?

Install koreader. It's godlike for pdfs.

i think ill go for some regular kindle/kobo + koreader and wait till those bigger ones become cheaper and better.

The hardware is so fucking bad, Cant wait to read full texts on a 13inch on the beach kek
