What's the best way to store unused wires and cables?

I actually organized my big tangled box of cables a few months ago.

All I did was get like 20 plastic grocery store bags and start putting types of cables into their own separate bag. Nothing is labeled and I still have to search for shit, but now I search for a cable by going through my pile of bags instead of pulling it all out as one big wad of cables and sifting through the mess.
