I was wondering, /g/, what's the best combo for antimalware and antivirus? Is paid bitdefender really worth an upgrade from Windows Defender on win10?

What does /g/ use?

There is no best combo.

Don't plug random USB thumbdrives into your computer.

Don't run executable from untrusted sources. If you are going to download stuff from places like TPB then run it in a VM.

Don't click on things in emails from people you don't know.

Disable flash in your browser, or at the very least make it "click-to-play".

Use an adblocker in your web browser (ABP or uMeme Origin).

Don't be an idiot...MAKE BACKUPS OF YOUR DATA!

There is nothing magic about antivirus software. If you want to spend money on one then go for it. Overall, they might run better/consume less resources. But they aren't magic. They won't stop a zero-day.

If you are smart with your computer usage and keep the free AV that comes with windows up to date, then you will be fine.

Custom Windows Firewall can block most ports. Then an AntiVirus like Avast or something with a Reputation Engine should do just fine. Perhaps Malwarebytes AntiExploit also. Most of the paid versions come with productivity software. There is free software for performing those actions.

I have had good results with Avast.

If you use antivirus, just kill yourself. It's impossible to get infected unless you are a retard.

Three choices,
1. Don't be a retard. For a guide on not being a retard, refer to >>55547831.
2. Use Malwarebytes free + Windows Defender.
3. >install gentoo

I don't use shit except windows firewall and router firewall. Disable uac. Run noscript and ublock.
