It all depends on what you use your computer for. I work with thousands of small files and it was a nice speed improvement for me. For regular desktop use it won't be any better than a sata ssd.

SSDs aren't a meme and neither are these
It's not the quantum leap that SSDs were over mechanical drives but it's still an improvement, it just comes down to what you'll be doing with it as the other Anons have said

You can go look at some benchmarks comparing SSD loading times to RAM Disk, they're surprisingly close already. You should also consider getting a larger SSD instead so that more of your applications and files are loaded faster compared to storing on a mechanical drive.

the PCIe initialization during the POST actually makes boot times slightly longer than a SATA SSD. However once you're in the OS obviously its much faster.
