40GBs deduped to 20GBs of pure /trash/. I'm resorting it into a 512 byte record zfs volume. Compression is going up a little bit but waiting for the dedup of multiple devices worth of file structures and similar organization schemes I couldn't be bothered to consolidate.
Being a slow USB 2 device, putting dedup and compression at max, slowed it the fuck down but it's an archive if anything so only read speed matters.
How can I get some parity on a removable device?

At first I just used directories to organize, but that got quickly out of hand.
So now, I have a sqlite database that has two tables. One contains all of the tags and the other has the file information like the original title scraped from the site and its tags that are also scraped from the page and sometimes manually added tags.

Got all movies in one folder, renamed like for example:

This solves the problem of one vid being in multiple categories or having many actresses, which made sorting by folders impractical.
There might be a better/more elegant way to do it but this works for me.

There isn't much point in getting too specific with organizing my collection, because it's rather small; I've only bothered to hold onto the stuff which is difficult to find. Throw files in special queuing dir and have a shitty program move those files into a hidden directory and register their path into a database after asking me for some basic info/tags. I load up program to query database for whatever tags I ask for and have shortcut to edit tags of last one viewed.
I'd recommend to anyone to try to write their own personalized implementation of this. It's not exactly complex but there's enough going on that it's a fun thing to play with.
