On that site, there is a lot more than just that. The review will be removed unless there is a good explanation of why a certain product is good or bad. BS. not to mention you can flash CM13 on the Redmi which is something that you will never be able to do with that POS locked MTK P10, which is also slow af@ ~ 45k antutu.

If you wanted an MTK device without support, you should've bought the Vernee Apollo Lite. at least it has an X20 which is faster than SD650 in the Redmi (95k antutu).

Oh, and the build quality on UMI is shit, I give half a year before it breaks apart. google UMI Rome or UMI Iron to see how their previous models have held up (protip: they didn't).

The P10 is an old as shit SoC that lags and throttles in real day to day usage. even the X10 in the old Redmi Note 2 is better. and yet, that idiot bought a device that has the gimped version of the X10 and now he has to justify that horrible purchase.

Unbiased tech reviews.
my BM800 condenser mic turned up today as well as my Xiaomi yeelight.

the yeelight app is shite. Permissions out the ass like, read my sd card. Record video and audio via phone without permission etc
A bit heavy for a bluetooth lamp. Why does it need to see contacts and photos etc

also due to me being on android 6 (marshmallow) the app doesn't even pick up my lamp.
so all it is right now is a £35 lamp that I can manually turn up and down.

I emailed customer services via Google play > Xiaomi yeelight
and they stated "Permission issue on Android 6.0. Fix is on the way"

If the permissions don't get turned down I'll be sending it back. Fuck having a lamp controlling my life and recording me jerk it off without me knowing.

when skynet kicks in I for one welcome our lamp overlords....

was going to do one of this yeelight but it might spill over into racism because I feel let down over this app
>>55209103
I've restricted it all. It's more the sheer balls these companies have.
why does a bluetooth lamp need access to my sd card and be able to record footage and audio without my knowledge? It's insane.
and a lot of people aren't tech conscious like us. So anyone could have these apps and could be recording without their knowledge and you could be recorded via a third party who run apps like this

it might be tin foil but hey. It's the world we live in now.

You can, but you'll need some equipment.

Since you're in this thread, I presume you're a cheap fuck. So get one of those fake DW watches or Nomos. I personally prefer Nomos.
Curren and Megir tend to be too... overdesigned? I think most of them look like shit.

I want the following and need advice:
I need a tent that works
I need a light
Maybe a better backpack for camping, as I work on many festivals in Germany.
I want an activity tracker for sports, mostly running, and is compatible with my smartphone and can read my heart rate whenever I need it and wakes me up.
I want a cadence calculator, so I know how often I step and how fast and hard I step.
Maybe an armband where I can put my smartphone in while running...
I think this is all I wish for this year....

I see lots of Cree (or perhaps "Cree") for $0.99 shipped. Complete garbage aluminum tubes, no actual reflectors, and of course the descriptions are full of lies (grossly overstated lumen count, pic related is for a light that's $1.34 shipped to America and those beam pics on the right side are fake, you see them on at least a dozen different flashlight listings on eBay, when the light arrives I can almost guarantee you a tiny hotspot with a really messy spill and halo) but man I just cannot stop buying them.

This one was from GB, I'm going to assume is legit and I think it is the best selling one.

Both have the same lightning quality, but I don't really like the plastic feeling.

Anyway for less than 2 bucks is a great deal compared to local stores.

And yeah, my Cree flashlights look like top beams, but they work great at night, tried one camping and the beam was visible at 40-50 m. My 10 bucks led lenser is obviously better, but well, it's 10 bucks and use more expensive batteries.

The Ultrafires I own all have actually extremely clear and large hotspots with hardly any spill, just a tiny uneven halo. For $15.29 shipped for 6 I was fairly impressed. That gimmick they do to try and force the light to have throw by making it "focus adjustable" just to save money by not having to make reflectors is so cheesy, though.

Ordered a "EDC Multifunction Tool Wrench Keychain Outdoor Camping Cutter Screwdriver EVUS" which gear/knife guys will immediately recognize as a knockoff of a Peter Atwood tool, the Prybaby. One piece multitools (OPMTs) are pretty interesting little things you can slip into your pocket or throw on your keychain, for those who don't know. This one has multiple size hex wrenches, a bottle opener, 2 flathead drivers (that seem to be the same size), and a pry bar function.

This tool shipped on the 11th and arrived on the 18th, easily the fastest shipping I've ever gotten. I probably got lucky.

The hex wrenches are in metric instead of inches as they are on most Prybabies (the Metric Prybabies being an obvious exception) and the bottle opener geometry seems good, plus the Chinese tiki grinds actually make it very grippy to use as a bottle opener. I'm gonna test it out this weekend prying nails because I heard these things aren't heat treated properly so if it breaks I'll post an update. $1.75 shipped compared to a genuine Atwood tool which start at $65 and go up depending on how rare and coveted they are.

I ordered another Chinese OPMT with a carabiner clip, kinda like a Nite Ize DoohicKey but it has a dedicated phillips driver which is very interesting. I'm looking at a Leatherman Brewzer knockoff as well as a knockoff of a Gerber Shard that's clearly not made with a water jet cutter and has a phillips driver that could be ground out by hand, which is very interesting. The carabiner OPMT I ordered also looks like it has a phillips driver made using tooling not meant to make phillips drivers so who knows how well it will actually work.

I found out about this thread today and I'm really happy it exists. Thanks, /csg/.

Picrelated is redirect rules that Better History extension uses. They are fed through fucking raw HTTP, MitM galore.

In my experience, Better History sometimes redirects random AliExpress links to to cityadspix.com and causes all sorts of certificate errors on Ali website.

Better History used to be open source, but the extension code is gone from GitHub.
