/g/ you have a mission;

Create a piece of malware that uninstalls the current OS of the machine completely removing it from the boot options in the BIOS and installs Gentoo. You have 1 week

How would you prepare?
What language(s) would you use?
How late would you stay up every night?
>>
>>54954458
>malware
But it wouldn't be malware if it did what you describe, anon.
>>
>>54954458
na im just gonna play some games instead
>>
>>54954495
Look up the definition of 'malware' again please.

>overwrites boot partitions
>installs new operating system
>deletes all current files
>says it's not malware

Get the fuck out and educate yourself kid, you just got schooled.
>>
>How would you prepare?
Honestly, I wouldn't. It's kind of a dumb idea.
>What language(s) would you use?
Probably just shell or Python. If it's too slow then C/C++ would probably be better.
>How late would you stay up every night?
As late as I feel like it.

I think it'd be more funny if it installed Gentoo, but instead preserved the user's personal documents. And then informed the user that the only way to recover their files was to master Gentoo, perhaps with some kind of a trial like installing a desktop environment with the least amount of USE flags possible and with a WiFi setup that actually worked.

Otherwise the user would just call Geek Squad and then Geek Squad would just install Windows on it again. But if there was a possibility of actually recovering the data, they'd probably be more hesitant to do so.

>>54954758
I thought I could delete it before anyone noticed, so that I could be a funny guy and add a sentence about wifi.

I fucked up, anon.
>>
>>54954774
its ok bro, 4chan-X is what caught you, I don't pay that much attention
>>
>>54954763
What we need to do; is give the user some incentive; "If you want your files back, you must master Gentoo. If you try to revert back to your original OS, all your files will be deleted and your machine will be no longer usable"

We need to make sure the user can't run the machine anymore cause the person may have back-up files on a separate HD or something
>>
>>54954803
What kind of things should be in the trial, though? Should it be something like optimizing CFLAGS/CXXFLAGS, or something impossible like getting removable media to automatically mount when inserted?
>>
Run a nigerian style scam, where you just email schmucks about a fine from some government agency that is overdue.

or one of those "your computer could be/is infected with 5,985623 suspected files for viruses" or some shit.

or pose as a woman wanting sex on a craiglist ad, but before you can put out they have to install gentoo.
>>
>>54954905
>receive email
>you just won a FREE dom
>to claim your freedom, just install Gentoo
>click to install and claim your prize now!
>>
bump. We need to share Gentoo with the world.
>>
>>54954458
1. I would prepare by opening up a copy of the gentoo installation handbook
2. I would write it in shell
3. As late as I normally do

“malware” is such a loose definition that I can basically just write any old program, name it “freeporn.exe” and it should count.

One last bump for freedom. We must bring Gentoo to the masses, everybody.
>>
>>54954758
Put a tutorial in the malware to teach them the ways of gentoo. Go so in depth in Gentoo that the user will be so emotionally invested in Gentoo by the time they get their files back that they wont want to uninstall it anymore.
>>
>>54954968
I installed gentoo, where's my dom?
>>
>>54959057
So, Stockholm Syndrome?
>>
>>54959064
>where's my dom

Congratulations, anon! Here are the instructions to redeem your FREEdom:

Right-click anywhere on this webpage, and click Inspect Element.

Enjoy your DOM.
>>
1. Kidnap /g/ users and baljeets.
2. Program "Capitalism is bad. Install gentoo." into their heads in English, Hindi, and Punjab FLAC audio for 1 week without sleep.
3. Deploy into target's neighborhood.
>>
>>54954540
But it installs gentoo, that excuses any of what you've said
>>
>>54958938
This is wrong, Atlas is lifting Uranus (the sky) not Gaia (the earth).
>>
>>54959097
>Right-click anywhere on this webpage, and click Inspect Element.
I'm not into online doms
>>
>>54959814
Okay, then how about this?

Navigate to http://www.fem.com and then right-click and hit Inspect Element.

There, now you have Femdom. Do you like that better?
>>
>>54954458
rm -rf / script
>>
That would be quite the feat. I know Arch has automated installers but I've never heard of one for gentoo. That's a lot of compile time.
>>
>>54959896
Just unpack an already-built image
>>
>>54954851
install the gvfs package

- (optional) move users documents to respective locations on Gentoo
- edit boot record
