I think it'd be more funny if it installed Gentoo, but instead preserved the user's personal documents. And then informed the user that the only way to recover their files was to master Gentoo, perhaps with some kind of a trial like installing a desktop environment with the least amount of USE flags possible and with a WiFi setup that actually worked.
Otherwise the user would just call Geek Squad and then Geek Squad would just install Windows on it again. But if there was a possibility of actually recovering the data, they'd probably be more hesitant to do so.
