Ubuntu is a joke. If you liked arch why not opensuse tumbleweed?

If you like having access to the AUR and just want more stability, Manjaro is perfect. Between Ubuntu and openSUSE, I'd recommend openSUSE tumbleweed. It's more stable than arch, but you get to keep the benefits of having a rolling release.

Fedora is a brilliant jewish ploy to get neckbeards to betatest RHEL packages for free.
>>
>>54905768
- Release model is shit. Why would I want old version of filezilla? How is this improving stability if new version has bugfixes?
- It is suppsed to be stable but it isn't. 16.04 was garbage on release.
- The only valuable versions of ubuntu are spins like Ubuntu Mate or Xubuntu, main edition is literaly cancer of computing
- They are wasting time with things they shouldn't waste time with (Mir, phone, snaps)
- They don't spend time where it's needed. 16.04 has new software center that is blown the fuck out by what deepin has. Ubuntu mate glued better software center in one release with their software butique.
- do-release-upgrade brakes 9/10 times

The only reason to use ubuntu these days is the wide support from everybody (if they support linux, they support ubuntu)

Thanks, I will reconsider

>for free.
Kek.

RH pays for all the architecture Fedora users get without paying.
Buildsystem.
Personal hosting space with SSH access.
Personal repositories.

Same situation applies to Novell's openSUSE.

It's just users of poorfaggot distros like Arch and Debian which can't afford none of them, that are perpetrating the Fox&Grapes scheme.
>>
>>54905922
The neckbeards do it for free.
Obviously it still costs redhat money, but that's not the point.

Suse is really nice if you are using KDE, it's the best experience I've had so far. Only thing that sucks is that you have to download codecs from this packman repository.

They got into an argument probably about grades and studying. Brat holds loli as hostage. Loli gives speech saying don't blame brat since society/education system is wack. Brat lets loli go.

Iisn't manjaro Arch with pre-installed stuff ? How's that different than Arch concerning stability ?
>>
>>54906581
No, they also have their own repositories instead of the arch repositories. They're still very up-to-date, but the packages are tested a bit more so they don't break. The one that's the same just with things pre-installed is Antergos.

Too bugy in what sense? Maybe you have a couple of packages yoll need to downgrade.

If you want stability go with Debian, you'll be stucked with old as fuck packages, but it'll be stable.
>>
>>54905594
Install FreeBSD.
>>
>>54908280
Debian testing is a really good compromise between stability and newer packages. It's a nice balance.

from my experience, 16.04 was a complete mess. I'm using 15.10 though and it's very decent. It doesn't have the Arch Linux fast boot time sadly...
>>
>>54910232
>testing

No it isn't, because you're having to wait the 2 week migration cycle for bug and security fixes compared to unstable

Get unstable
>>
>>54905846
Snappy is a good though. It's a great way to fix compatibility between software releases in a consistent manner. It's the same strategy guix and nixos use.
>>
>>54910561
In my expeeience, there's very little difference between unstable and arch, though I'd say that updating after a long period of not on Debian is more likely to go well since they always have to be ready for anyone to move from stable up to testing and then to unstable.

I was in the same place and went with Opensuse, it ended up being more buggy and specially hard to get anything done because of the lack of a good wiki. I am now back on Arch

How can arch be buggy? There's a detailed wiki page for literally everything. I even got it working nicely on a macbook pro recently despite all their proprietary crap.
