I was told it was best to install Windows 10 + GTX970 to one drive and then save everything else to another.
I only did it so I could finally mod Skyrim ffs.

I'm not sure about windows 10 but the suggested install directory wouldn't change even if you link it like that.
I'm pretty sure that when you change the default directory while installing to somewhere out of the default it makes a link for you anyways.

You can put the HDD above the SSD in drive manager so things will automatically go to the HDD and it will be first on the drop down menu.
Otherwise you just have to set the destination folder to something on your HDD.

My thought exactly... at least on every winblows I've used you could manually select where to install shit. But then it hit my Win10 might very well just say 'fuck you! I decide where your programs go!' because muh speed and easy use.
