it's a modernised iPhone 5S with the same SOC from the 6s, same camera from the 6s, Apple Pay, and no force touch. i prefer the feel of the 5 series compared to the 6 series, your milage will vary, try it out in a shop.

i had a iphone 4 for four years and upgraded to an iphone 5 which i paid 50€ for in december
just keep it until the the phone runs out of life
My girlfriend just upgraded to an SE from an old iPhone 4, at least this one has a buttery user experience. Battery life isn't bad surprisingly.
She wanted another iPhone because she hates change, so her trying an Android phone was out of the question.
