Fuck yeah, very nice. Looks like it is in good shape. How much did it cost you? I think the space view ones go for to much imo
>>
>>54652722
Just going to throw this out there, quality straps and bracelets can create a really nice look and feel. And it's not too bad to spring for one because you can use it for a long time across multiple watches.
>>
>>54652224
What's with the obsession with brand names? It like watching console war shitposting, except it's being done by middle aged men who have apparently been drained of any capacity for anything but fapping over Switzerland.
>>
>>54652807
I agree on that, but I paid 48€ for this watch, and I just can't pay more than 15€, 20 tops for a strap.

But I'm open to suggestions since I'm a sucker for comfort.
>>

I honestly ended up overpaying (by about $50), but I don't really mind. Not like I'm going to be selling it off.

Doesn't really matter famalm. I've seen people either just put them on a Hirsch Liberty with or without modding them. Pic related is a 60$ watch on a 35$ Rios strap.

As long as it's comfy and looks well it's worth it. Since if you cheap out on a strap you're going to end up hating it and buying another one. (Coming from the guy who has a box full of them)

quartz, although after reading a WUS thread about the mechanical, i kind of want a mech one too.
apparently the mechanical one has a spring loaded screw down crown, which sounds cool

And the mech one is usually more likely to be a franken.

The 3056 quartz ones are pretty dope though.

Nah.

I just bought >>54652237 for 20$ instead of Spanish wine (Sorry Hispanon). Plus the old gypsy said she has some poljot's and a "naval watch" at home, and that i should stop by next Thursday or Friday if i want to see them.

It's right in front of where i usually buy my beer so i'll be there anyhow.

Though i saw some really nice handmade watch/jewelry boxes on Etsy a while back. 50~60$ shipped sounds very enticing.

>>54654360
Buying advice is so boring. So much is just 'find me gud watch. No, not that one, better gud watch.' Does everything on /g/ need to be focused on consumption?
>>
>>54654412
>>54654433
So what watches are considered top of the line around here?
>>
>>54654532
Too many to name.
>>
>>54654433
Counting that half the generals on /g/ are either plain consumerism or or shit like homescreen/desktop threads.

There is some discussion about watch movements here, but that's very limited lately.

There's special snowflake watches that go for millions of dollars.

This is why this general needs a buying advice form. I've heard watches are now like jewelry since you can just look at the time on your phone or something, so what are the recommended brands? I'll just buy the one I think looks good from them.

Post watches and piss water.

>>54654631
Literally lurk more, see what people buy and recommend if you have no idea. Or just buy one of the approved meme watches.

And watches have a practical usage besides being a piece of jewelry. I used to be an office worker and now a soldier so i couldn't/can't use my phone at every moment. A watch makes it so much easier to glance and see the time, instead of going fiddling in your pockets for the pocketwatch.
>>
>>54654631
>just buy the one I think looks good from them
This is why a buying guide is hard, tastes are subjective so you need to look at a lot of different styles to find something you like. Lurking is the best way to find new stuff, I recommend the WAYWT threads in the category of your choice on WUS to discover new models.

Hello guys, could you recommend a new strap for this watch? I'm not a huge fan of leather and I was thinking about putting it on a NATO or something similiar, just not sure about the colours that would look good on it.
Metal bracelets are probably out of question, because the watch is titanium and also it's not really "bracelet style", at least from my perspective
>>
>>54657451
One could argue that the leather strap is the saving grace of this monstrosity.

But get a good leather strap and you'll like it more than the one it came one. Perlon is another nifty option.

The unnecessarily big Junkers logo (hidden by the minute hand), the terribly implemented 11 to 1 oclock index looks like shit, but the worst part about it is that you can clearly see scuff/scratches on the 8 oclock and 9 o'clock markers which were either from when they were applied. Likely other indexes too but it's a bit less prominent.

Fuck me if you would have removed the Junkers name it would have look like a piece of chinkshit, which is likely where it was made in. I haven't seen such shit on even a Komandirskie.

I can see why women started wearing men's watches. The 44KS on the left is 36mm... this 11A on the right is real fucking tiny. I'm actually impressed that Daini crammed a mechanical movement into this thing.

Now, what I don't understand is why men were suddenly convinced that they needed shields on their wrists just because their girlfriends wanted to wear something bigger than 20mm.

It is for adjustments when the watch is fast or slow.
>>
>>54662954
It directly affects the swinging of the balance wheel, therefore adjusting the rate of the watch. >>54652168 video
>>
>>54662954
Common feature on watches. Every so often a movement needs to be serviced to ensure its keeping time properly. That screw can let the movement run a bit faster, or a bit slower to ensure it stays accurate.

On a select few automatics though there will be a similar adjustment that lets you slow the rate at which the movement is wound. So if you're doing something like jogging you don't place undue stress on the mechanism.

Diloy straps are fine, well made and comfy to boot.

And for fucks sake don't buy any otf that infantry shit from china.

buy 1 good strap and enjoy it instead of buying 3 terrible chink straps and throwing them in a drawer one by one. I ordered one of these chinkleather straps for a friends old Komandirskie and it felt like horseshit. I ended up giving him some of my decent ones so he wont' suffer.

There's a saying over here;

That the cheapskate who continues buying the cheapest shit ends up paying the most. In the both shekels and time spent trying to fix/replace them.

One could argue i learned that the hard way, since i have a box filled with a shitload of straps i don't have any use. Not like they are all dogshit tier, i've just kept buying cheap lots and unusual straps thinking they will fit better. (And sold a lot of my watches)

Might resell them as a lot at some point when i have the time.

>>54666323
I don't need to watch the wannabe gentry to know the answer to this. The NY0040 wins any day of the week because the Miyota 8200 is vastly, vastly superior to the 7S26. Better shock resistance, better adjustability and timekeeping, more metal parts and hand winding. The loss of the 60-click bezel is worth it just to have a movement thag isn't shit.

Now, it would be a different story if we were talking about the 6R15 SKX...
