BCPL is an interpreted version of CPL
CPL is part of the Algol family along with PL/I

Trick question.
English.

I have yet to find a modern programming language where the lexicon isn't English.

Explain yourself, fellow Indian.

When the original GameBoy was still developed for, it was common for developers to program in assembly, sometimes in straight binary- so as to squeeze as much performance out of the thing as possible. I don't know why, since ASM has a direct mapping to binary. Learned this in one of my CS courses.
>>
>>54649075
Because developers are retarded. Also the gameboy was a piece of shit.
>>
>>54641219
What is assembly language
>>
>>54649075
whoever told you it was written in direct binary is full of shit. I worked on GB and GBC games back in the 90s and it was all in LR35902 assembly.
>>
>>54651084
Oh well, there goes all my respect for my professor.
>>
>>54651123
Well you seem to have worked out the why. There is no benefit *at all* to writing in binary as everything has a direct asm mapping like you said. It literally just makes your life much, much hardware. The whole point of asm is so we can write in a higher level language with zero performance impact. You can control every single instruction in asm just as you can writing the machine code in binary.
>>
to everybody saying "assembly": there isn't one assembly.

the answer here is either fortran or c, depending on what asshole is asking the question
>>
>>54651176
true but when we refer to "assembly language" we mean the lowest level abstraction from the machine language of the chip.
>>
OK, fine. What is Machine Language?

English is ridiculously unsteady and irregular ( grammar ), hindi is a language you only need to know when you use desginated shitting streets and aramaic is just memetier. don't ask. it is.

the raw data of the executable file
i.e. If you write in machine code, you are literally typing what will go through the processor, most likely in hex editor though
so you can do
$ touch myprogram
$ hexedit myprogram # then add some stuff in it
$ chmod +x myprogram
$ ./myprogram

of course in this case you'd have to be writing the correct machine code for your processor architecture, otherwise you'll probably run it through a VM or emulator or something

Machine code for von Neumann architectures

Most of our technology wouldn't be possible if code couldn't be treated as data.
