So for some reason utorrent is missing its tray icon. When I minimize it, it's like I've never launched it in the first place (because it's not showing in the taskbar or as a tray icon). But it's actually still running.
When I reinstall utorrent the tray icon shows up, but when I restart my laptop it disappears again.
Any idea what's going on? When I try to "customize" the notification area there's no utorrent icon either, so I can't choose to "hide" or "show" it.

A good place to get invites is torrentinvites.org or even torrent-invites.com
Use throwaway email addresses when signing up and a different username to the ones you use on trackers and you'll be fine.
You'll quickly get into all of the good trackers without problems, also if you do buy a full account make sure it comes with the email address too so you have full control over it.
Don't just change the email address once you get access or tracker staff get suspicious.
I've personally gotten into lots of trackers this way including hdbits instead of pining away like fags do about how they "one day may get an invite".

It's a primitive quantization method that had been replaced by trellis. If you really want to use it, you'd have to set trellis=0, and set inter/intra deadzone values to something lower (like 6,4) for grainy sources.

There is no set number as such. The more sources you work on, the better you become at identifying what sort of treatment it might need. In the end, it's all about locking down the final bitrate.

HD sources need very little filtering (if at all).Things like qtgmc, tdecimate, sresotre are bare essential filters for handling interlacing/telecining or restoring proper framerates for converted discs (pal>ntsc)
Things like DeSpot you can do without and argue it was a shit source to begin with. There is a chance of catching a lot of false positives with spot removal filters (eyes can be construed for spots if you're not careful about it)
Keep it to a minimum I say. If one is so inclined, they can always do it in post.

Qtgmc placebo is just that. Sourcematch 3 is effective if you use it properly with other functions. unless the dvd source's source is vhs and is a shit transfer I usually layoff source match. Also using too many threads when multithreading with low bitrate sources is noticeably bad.
