So I never really ask for help, but I'm legit fucking stuck, /g/. As of waking up this morning, I've noticed that my PC has been loading up a process called "vds.exe" that makes my computer run incredibly slow. Like I can move my mouse a couple inches ever 3-4 seconds or so slow.

If I go into task manager and close it, everything goes back to normal. It only takes up about 25-30% CPU, so I don't know what's causing the freezing. And apparently this is an official windows process?

I've disabled Virtual Disc which is apparently what VSD stands for in services, but it didn't help at all. Every 3-4 hours it'll come back and interrupt whatever I'm doing. Does anyone know how to get rid of this thing completely or fix this?

I'm running on Windows 10 64-bit.

Have you tried restarting your PC after stopping and disabling the autostart of the VD service?

Try disabling the service from auto starting

I restarted a little while after disabling the service yes.

Do you mean in services? If so then I've done that.

Adwcleaner, Malwarebyes and JRT.

In that order.
If it doesnt detect anything dont worry.
If you are still paranoid Upgrade to Windows 7.
If you detect anything, well go paranoid.

I'll try those. Thanks.

Try to look for shady stuff in the startup list to see if you detect anything unusual too.

Nice shitpost, retard.

Btw if it's only taking 25-30% of your CPU and still freezes mouse and audio, it's probably because it's using the kernel time. This leads me to think you have drivers issues or something similar. Have you tried going back to a previous restore point, if you have any?
