I'm DLing Ableton from Kat.cr. I've got it installed no problems, but the crack patch looks like it installs a program that will incessantly run in the background of my computer. Claiming to be an ambiguous antivirus. I don't want some guy to have partial control of my computer, is there anyway to suppress the program after I install it? No. In the end of the day all tracker staff are assholes. They are trying to do their best to protect the site by enforcing rules. What sets some staff apart from others is the willingness of some to give a second chance, and show mercy. However, this is almost always unfairly distributed as staff have the authority to choose when do execute leniency and withdraw criticism or enforce tyranny and attack the user.
I used to question why anyone would want to DDOS these private tracker sites, and their respective communities, but after the experiences I've had during /ptg/ fallout, I can understand why.
Currently, no tracker staff give 'fair hearings' or objectively enforce rules, their is always an element of bias and subjectivity. When you go to #tracker-disabled, you aren't getting a chance to speak for yourself, your fate was already determined by mods before you even knew you were banned.
The tracker community is cancer as they are as you say, the judge, jury, and prosecuter. You do not get an unbiased judgment, or a fair hearing among peers, or even a fair prosecution. If staff want you gone, any excuse or reason they pull out of their ass will suffice, and because no system of balancing powers is enforced, staff stick by others actions, no matter how unjust or cruel.

What /ptg/ needs to remember is that because of the nature of the internet, there aren't any foolproof ways of confirming you never broke X rule, without going deep into personal info sharing - which I know people here would take issue with - if for example you need to prove you own a certain account after accessing it on holiday or from an unusual IP. Assuming you're running another browser or OS too, how are staff supposed to differentiate between a regular user accessing his account from elsewhere, and Rajesh using said account he just bought?
Invite trees will catch mass bans after someone is caught selling or trading. Even if that anon gave his trusted IRL friend an invite during this selling, and they both made the top user classes etc. it becomes difficult to comfortably prove said invite was legitimate. To add, it's expected that your entire tree will be banned on most places should you break this rule anyway. In such a case, I guess it's just tough luck, which is ultimately the attitude you need to have with PTs/piracy in general. Which sucks, because there are some legitimate users who aren't aware they could be punished for what their inviter does before joining, or using IPs that other suspicious/banned users have shared.
A staffer from another site once sent us info regarding one ban evader who was linked to several hundred known IPs, emails and usernames alone. My first thought upon seeing it was "are we really going to catch this guy". Second thought was "probably not".

I personally have no issue with a user rejoining a site after being unjustly banned there, but because of the sheer amount of attempting to lie and cover their tracks that anyone running a decent site will encounter, they are left somewhat jaded and less-trusting of people on their site, and people trying to join it. If they expose the /actual/ amount of evidence they have on a user while discussing the status of their account, they open up vulnerabilities in the case that any malicious member could use to insert their own conjured-up excuses or stories of events.
Speaking solely for myself here, it was always imperative that I had sufficient evidence to ban a user before doing so, and anyone could come and explain their case in the IRC (though most users didn't). I'm not going to deny that some inherent bias exists among staffers (or even between staff and certain users), and my own guess for that reasoning is that it helps build trust and camaraderie between a group of people that won't necessarily know each other IRL, and when you need to run a secure and active torrent tracker while keeping it private at the same time, you tend to be prepared to sacrifice people's access based on what the people you 'know' have told you. Of course, there are exceptions to this. and some take the word of users more lightly than others.
tl;dr If you were banned for some stupid reason, get another account. If it doesn't work out, find another avenue of piracy. There are dozens.
