You people don't get it.

Someone can use PHP and js and still produce good scripts (yes, not programs because programs are compiled binaries that run on a machine).
The problem is that most people are lazy and take whatever bloated premade JavaScript and just use on or two functions. The same goes for CSS --> massive CSS files for one or two elements styled by it.

The problem with php is that many newbies / even normies who have a simple static html homepage try to add functionality to their page. So they learn about php and don't want to do very much wich probably results in PHP-code that is vulnerable to SQL-injections.

This is what damages the reputation of a language.

I wrote a website-based application in C with nginx and CGI

in fucking c99!
Now I am happy about the ease of php.
It's just one of the right tools for the job.
C has other powers.

Yeah, I am a code artisan who codes in JS.

As long as I am writing algorithms, I am programming. As long as I am dealing with data structures, I am programming. As long as I'm automating computer routines, I'm programming. Stay mad, compiled fag. You're no different than any code monkey, except that the compiler does shit for you, while you think you're the shit for writing fizzbuzz in C.

The future belongs to JS and you gonna know nothing but deprecated languages soon.

Oh, when people ask me what I do they are impressed with the stuff I can show them. When they ask you, they're like uhm ok, so you're writing just another desktop program that nobody is going to use and spending months to finish it. And it's also going to look worse than a webpage. What? You're compiling your kernel? Wtf is that for? Whatever, dork.

John McCarthy said the same things about Lisp.

If Lerdorf was worse at writing parsers, he might have used S-expressions and the Lisp programmers would be calling it the best language since Scheme or Common Lisp.

NO!
The future belongs to ALL languages

Think about it:
Do you write LOW LEVEL Programs in JS? No?
But in what language do you write a JS engine? JS -- hahahah NO FCKING NO!

That's a dumb example because your computer basically gets 2x faster every couple years and ram gets cheaper and higher capacity. So even if you don't ever touch it again it won't get slower.

That's a pretty arbitrary restriction, but I'll bite.

First, storing source code in your docroot is begging for trouble.

PHP also has a history of shit design, including strlen() being the original way of hashing functions and the whole magic_quotes fiasco

It seems like you're assuming everyone has learned JavaScript and never seen C before when you made these claims. C is also much easier to learn than JS, there's barely anything to C.

Acceptable languages:
C - for performance
ASM - if you need to optimize beyond the compiler
Scheme/Some other dialect of Lisp - for quick writing and portability
