I've finally got enough money to build!!!!!
(edition)
Please rate my first potential build, I'm still pretty new to this but I know I need a different PSU (any recommendations you have would be great).
I also need to pick a graphics card, I want a 980 Ti but I'm not sure what the diff between the brands are.
Also motherboard suggestions please!
also, budget wise I have just over $3000 AUSTRALIAN dollars to spend. That sounds like a lot but things cost a lot here

Get a better PSU.
>>54370299
yeah I'm not sure what one to get.
I was you guys would have a good idea of what brands are best.

Very few brands have consistent quality across all their products, so pick quality, not brand.
This is an option: https://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=30082&cPath=535

what about this one?

It's pretty memetastic
Protips:
- Better PSU (CX series has some issues in shitty nations, I know we have decent 240v power not the housefire 100v shit, but CX is still a risk)
>Look into RM series since it's pretty much the only reliable PSU that's reliably available downunder.
Don't buy Corsair ram
- Corsair RAM, just say no.
>It's the most inflexible ram and usually shits the bed trying to run at different timings, won't ever undervolt either.
- WD 1TB EZEX - buy 2
>windows/mdadm softraid0 those bitches, they fly.
- 6700K, are you a madman?
>Not only Zen but Kaby Lake is very soon, if you need a new PC right now buy a Pentium G4400 to hold you over until 7700K is released (it will work on your chosen MB)

That is great, as long as you are cool with the price. Your machine can run on 650W with plenty of room to spare.

Thanks!
I've changed the PSU to an RM 850
RAM recommendations?
I picked the 6700K because I need something really good(?) now. This amount of money I have is a one off so I'll need something good.
also if anyone knows of any really sleek cases please tell me
>>54370272
don't buy the 980ti now, new cards are literally two weeks away. don't be stupid.

Fair enough mate.
>RAM recommendations?
G.Skill > Micron/Crucial > Kingston > everyone else

That really depends on what you like.
Silverstone Fortress FT05B looks great imo.
Antec P380 looks smexy too (but I don't think anyware stock it anymore)
Antec P280 is nice, but needs an extra $30 thrown at it for soundproofing from jaycar (since the included shit sucks)

Oh man you've helped me out so much
now all I need is a proper motherboard and I'm set

The mb you've chosen is good but it could be better if you went for an atx mb. Basically look for a Z170 without the m.
Also good brands are gigabyte, asus and asrock. Msi mobos are scarlet memes.
