How can a single person even write 1.7 million lines of code on his/her own?
Are even simple GUI applications getting out of reach of normal programmers nowadays?
>>54316803
Copy and paste.
Code lines are a shitty measure because you can end up with a lot of one or two character lines and empty lines just in making your code readable.
>>54316994
I'm not even sure what his application does
>>54316803
>>54317111
I highly doubt it's 1.7 million LoC.
THat's fucking bullshit, it's a worthless program that does nothing. What is all that fucking code doing?
In my job I write maybe 200-300 on a good day (1 day == 6 hours or so of productive hours).
This week I wrote a UWP testing app for our hardware though, and while I only wrote/edited 200-300 lines before documentation, visual studio wrote the controller switch statement for me, all of the XAML and the linking code which was probably 1000 or so generated lines.
>17 DIFFERENT PROGRAMMING LANGUAGES
o i m laffin
also most certainly not, that guy is retarded and if you aren't terrible at programming you can write something similar to that in <1000 loc
>>54317111
It speeds up the pc, dummy.
1.7 million lines of code for a f.lux clone?
>>54317200
That being said, you are probably not 20 years old and had been programming for the last five years, in the momment. You can do it.
>>54316803
>Bulgaria
O lawd am I laughing. What are those fucking people going to do next?
Holy shit there is actually an installer.
http://iristech.co/new-version-0-6-7-for-windows/
Only 54.4 MB.
Starting my VM. Stay tuned.
>>54317717
What the fuck is that though? It looks like an f.lux clone.
Getting closer...
Ah yes, you absolutely need Qt for such an application...
And of course also SSL and OpenCV...
>1.75 million loc for a year
>every day I write 1,000-2,000
1 750 000 / 365 ~ 4,500
?
On an extremely productive day I'll write 1000-1200 sloc. 12-hour days.
this is bullshit.
>>54317760
What the fuck does it do?
As soon as the installer finished, my mouse started lagging...
... I should probably "expand my color range" to fix that.
>>54317763
It clearly says he has refactored a lot of code you dim wit
>>54317779
What the fuck...
What is this fucking program? Why is it so bloated?
Why do people code programs that already exist (f.lux)?
>>54317787
Probabily a color pattern changer.
At least it has some of the dankest screen effects I have seen in my life desu senpai
>>54317814
tf is that shit
Well, you can also choose whether the fonts should be anti-aliased or not. The other two options do nothing.
>>54317814
>>54317828
this is what 'night themes' lead to. use a white theme like a normal person or in a few months your screen will look like this
>>54317814
>>54317828
that's for astronomical observations and shit, so you don't lose your night vision
I have clicked on "have a rest" and it brought me into a universe of dankness that shouldn't even be possible.
>>54317846
fuck me that looks kinda neat
>>54316803
Why would that moron waste years of his life writing code for a program that already fucking exists? Why would I use that shit over f.lux?
>>54317846
>>54317854
it`s available in the site http://iristech.co/demo/
It allows you to use your favorite applications! Facebook messenger, Skype, WhatsApp!
Strange that I do not remember that I have any Facebook messenger installed...
>>54317859
Because f.lux it's too mainstream, heck I bet it doesn't even have a CoC
>>54316803
learn to touch type and you too can write that much code that won't take an entire lifetime
Thanks Mr. Skeletal
Didn't that developer who created Roller Coaster Tycoon did everything in assembly and also created all the graphical resources for it?
My body is ready.
Should I do it?
>>54317893
My lord and god
>>54317893
Yes, chris sawyer. Why are you comparing that god to this shitlord?
>>54317912
Caution using this, this will add some GBs in your RAM and cores in your CPU
>>54317859
>"Why would that moron waste years of his life writing code for a program that already fucking exists?"
because he can
>"Why would I use that shit over f.lux?"
Don't do it, maybe he's just getting fun making it
>>54317912
DO EEEEEET
>>54317912
Do it faggot
>>54317912
I did it. I now can feel the bliss of modern software development, creating better lives for everyone.
>>54317814
f.lux already has this "feature"
>>54317960
>not using a slug remover
what the fuck are doing? Do you want people to see what kinda threads you browse when they look up your history?
>>54317953
Well here it is.
Apparently what "Speed up my PC" does is just setting the visual effects options of Windows to different settings.
Via a registry key.
Which was not present on my system.
G8 b8 m8 I r8 your app 1.7MLoC/8.
>>54317999
For the ones who like reading the MSDN:
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc957204
And that's it folks! Time to delete the VM.

>Why we created Iris?
“When I was young my vision was perfect, but as a programmer I was sitting for more than 10 hours per day in front of computer. Not short after that I started to experience huge eye pain and strain. I even got glasses for the first time in my life. It was time for a change. I started to search the internet for programs for eye protection and started to read every single article for eye and vision health. After I didn’t find anything good enough out there I decided to create my own software for eye protection, health and productivity. Iris is the product of this decision. I really hope that you also believe that we should live life full of joy and health and that we should use our time wisely.” – Daniel
LOL, digital snake oil!
I solved my eyestrain problem by turning brightness down to its minimum setting and reducing contrast.

What a fucking waste of time, did this guy seriously write 1.7 loc for this shit?
>>54318241
I mean, this guy spent a year writing this stuff, not to you, VM guy.
>>54316803
No way. Just no fucking way a single person writes 1.7 lines of code in 1 year.
>>54316803
