I use a Moto G 2014 right now. Not sure exactly what im getting yet but something better. Any excellent phones under $350?
>>
>>54309813
coming from a Moto G2 I can't complain about the camera, at least this camera FOCUSES, my Moto G2 would take a fucking lifetime to focus on anything properly, and the quality is fine desu, in low light though you can see the really bad artifacts and shit so eh

Also MIUI is really comfy and has so many little features that make the experience so good.

And the battery life on this thing is fucking incredible (compared to my old Moto G2 which only did 2 hours of SOT, it seems like this thing can handle 8-10 easily)

Help me solve my Moto G conundrum, /spg/. In my country they currently sell all three generations of the Moto G. The prices are as follows:

Moto G 2013 - $60 (used), $90 (refurbished, common)
Moto G 2014 - $125 (pretty rare)
Moto G 2015 - $165 (common)

Every one of these is the 8GB model. They don't really import the 16GB ones for some reason. Which is the best for the money? Does the screen quality seriously differ between them?

Great specs and price, but no LTE in the US. If you're in Europe it could be fine, unless your carrier is one that uses Band 20. Same with Australia, it'll work with LTE but is missing a key band used by Australian carriers for better penetration inside large buildings.

I like the plastic build, it feels very solid. Also it isn't slippery to hold, unlike "premium buld" devices

Camera is really good, same as the 6P minus a few camera features (unless you get a tweaked camera app). Battery life is pretty good, I get like 6 hours SoT if I am actively using the phone.

Bretty good phone/10

I'm not sure if anyone here has any experience with this but I'll ask anyway.
So my brother's got a moto x 2013 with an amoled display, and we noticed a stuck pixel in the bottom left side of the screen (it's stuck on green).

Now it was my understanding that amoled screens can't get stuck pixels, but it is definitely lighten up, so I don't think it's dead.
Is there any way to fix this? We've tried a bunch of stuck pixel fixing apps from the play store and left them on for about an hour but none of them have worked so far.
Anything else we can do or is it just hardware related?
>>
>>54310493
Yea I've been looking at the 6p. The only thing that's preventing me from pulling the trigger is the lack of microSD and the 810 firehazard processor. Currently considering the s7 though, I actually like the capacitive buttons and I heard touchwizz is much improved upon. How long till the new HTC Nexus comes out and will it have microSD?

>hurr it's RADIATION
It's electromagnetic radiation, not particle radiation.
Visible light is EM radiation (better stay in-doors forever)
Infrared is EM radiation (better never have your arm next to your body, you're blasting yourself with RADIATION!)
Radio is EM radiation (better tinfoil line your house because the reason your car radio plays music is the air is chock-full of RADIATION)

Only high energy EM radiation (such as gamma waves) has any risk at all of cancer.
Guess what no wireless charger will ever use? High energy EM that has any risk of cancer.

I saw this twenty minutes ago on /o/ and fell in love. Then I tried to install some kit that would give me the same experience and all it did was clog up my app list.

How do I get that theme and those icons? All of them? This thing gives me good, good feels of really old Winamp and that old Earth 2150 series of RTS interfaces. Yes, I know it's Eva. Yes, i know it was originally released as a super super limited edition theme for a super duper limited edition phone in nipland.

It just gives me an amazing case of nostalgia for something I didn't even know I could be nostalgic for. Help, please?

Nexus 5 was my daily driver until it bricked. Getting it repaired for free, until then I'm using a Moto G3 XT1450 as a replacement. Who thought it was a good idea to push an 8GB internal 1GB memory phone in early 2015? Even worse, why was Motorola retarded enough to put both physical buttons on the same side? Taking screenshots gives me carpal tunnel.

This 1GB memory meme needs to die soon, anons. Manufacturers have been conning us for too long on the "1GB is enough" spiel.

I thought the buttons on the same side were fine until I realized they only allow screenshots with simultaneous button pressing which makes it hit or miss, instead of a "hold power+press vol" solution. It was probably a physical design shortcut for waterproofing the button areas to have them on the same side, it's still convenient for normal phone use, just harder to screenshot sluts on snapchat.

They really gimped the shit out of the G 3rd gen with 1gb ram and charging $220+ for the 2gb model. flash and ram aren't expensive they need to kill that practice. I got my Moto G3 1gb for $99 and would upgrade to another Moto later if they show useful improvements. I really love the body of this phone but for the size they could have used a 250-350 mAh larger battery.

Hey fags. Do you know what I want. I want a smartphone with at least one customisable, programmable button on the side. Why is that so impossible to find?

One of the downsides of the current glass slab phone generation is that in order to access information you need to perform complex hand gestures, compared to a dumbphone. It would be very useful to be able to program a button to do *X* when double tapped, or held for three seconds, for example "start video recording" or "bring up often used app".

Why doesnt it even exist?

Need to know this quickly -

Can anyone surmise whether the new Nexus will have SD card? HTC will be running them so it is a real possibility perhaps, though knowing Nexus they don't like to include it.

I only need to know quickly because I need to decide whether to take the 100 bucks off pre-order for HTC 10 and if I wait for the nexus that may turnout shit with no SD and good DAC.

Have battery life issues been fixed for the S7 in the US yet? I'm waiting to upgrade until they do, I have heard of one major update since release

>comes to smartphone general

I'm sure your mother loved you anon, no need to be this edgy.
>>
>>54314472
Yeah, it's called "Buy a phone with a lower res screen and less powerful CPU."

If a 3000-3600mAh battery can't save it, nothing will.
>>
>>54314472
On Verizon right now, so I can't really confirm, but from what I've heard of the other OEM customers, it seems battery life has been improved with the latest update.
>>
>>54314502
Then why does they exynos version have such better battery life with nearly the same performance?
>>54314505
Great, I've been hearing so many mixed results when it comes to battery life. I just don't want to import the Intl version and risk no warranty. Verizon hasn't had any updates yet?
>>
>>54314549
Because exynos is a great SoC that uses little power and has great deep sleep features.
>>

not sure if you're the same anon, but you're only proving my point. it's all about the optimization and that's what I was asking.

Verizon hasn't gotten the update yet (it usually is the slowest to update), but it should be right around the corner. Honestly, the battery is pretty good w/o the update, so I'm guessing the update will make it godly (unless you have a K10000 phone)
>>
>>54314549
My AT&T variant got the update, and it did help with battery life.

Still getting rid of it though, managed to pick up an S7 EDGE for cheaper than I'm selling my AT&T S7 for, and it's an international variant.

What pdf reader do people use on android? I want to read scanned pdfs and be able to zoom in to avoid huge margins, but then still be able to flip pages, hopefully with the volume rocker. Every pdf reader I've tried doesn't allow flipping pages once zoomed in (and especially not keeping the zoom), and many don't even support using the volume rocker, and I really really hate scrolling through pdfs.

As >>54317430 said applies but more so if you don't like MIUI just flash the Qualcomm AOSP ROM and Gapps with FP working and you'll have a Nexus experience. I personally however like MIUI for its refreshing look on Android and it's polish, as well as all the other little nifty features it incorporates, the only thing I miss from other ROMs (CM) at this point is long press recents for your last app, other than that I don't find myself missing anything else, shits comfy.

I noticed the Redmi is Android L 5.1 vs Android M 6.0.

>>54318103
MIUI8 which is coming out on May 10th is based on MM so your fine for updates plus this device is a Snapdragon device so you'll get updates for a while to come without having to worry, there's already CM being worked on for the device and people are trying to hack together the Fingerprint reader from the AOSP ROM by Qualcomm to work in the CM one, so if MIUI does stop updates, you'll always have CM, but I prefer MIUI

And so no, it won't mess with your goals desu senpai
