That's how a modern OS works. There's things going on like prefetching that allow me to launch applications instantly. That's why you can open heavy applications in Windows in microseconds and in Linux it takes seconds. Unused memory is wasted memory.
Protip: even if your Ganoo Linux box says you're just using 50 MB or whatever, the truth is that the kernel is using a big chunk for caching.

I was running rainmeter but I found it game me less fps in vidya games and made bootup annoying without an SSD. I had the taskbar on the left (like ubuntu default), but it looked better centered with the lake going across the whole screen horizontally. I just ended up finding the default comfy.
