I actually used to run Arch, but then Wi-Fi stopped working, I had everything set up correctly previously, but it was a no go. Spent like 10 hours trying to fix it, nothing. Even tried reinstalling it. On the version I installed it on (my live usb), I could connect to wifi to doing ifconfig [adapter] down and then ip link [adapter] down then do wifi-menu and connect, but after downloading the new kernel from arch and setting it up again properly, after rebooting, it won't connect to internet, through network manager or anything else, and wifi-menu couldn't scan networks, so I deduced it down to a driver problem in the kernel, but when I tried to modprobe the driver, it gave me a fatal error. I ran Arch for months, but If I didn't update every now and then (the max I could wait was a week), I'd have to spend a little time fixing something. I tried Gentoo in a VM and deduced it down to being a meme os, or a hobbyist os, since it took forever to install packages and whatnot. I do agree there's nothing wrong with using Ubuntu if it works for me, or anyone else for that matter. I even compiled my own kernel tailored to my machine instead of using the Ubuntu binaries. I just do the fake screenfetch since Gentoo is considered a meme on here, and it's funny every now and then when some people get tricked by it.

No other distro allows you to choose from several different versions of almost all packages, or install a package from git (latest commit) through your package manager, or has a system like USE flags which allow you to choose what you want supported in your software at compile time, or allows you to easily switch certain very core components like your init system, or allows you to compile all your software for your own processor with -march=native (for epic performance boosts you can't notice but whatever).

opengl-hq is a preset that upscales with spline36.
I use ewa_lanczossharp (Jinc) for upscaling, which is what madVR uses. Some people say it does it better than madVR, I doubt there's much of a visual difference.

Thnx, I put those in my mpv.conf. I didn't really notice any difference between opengl and opengl-hq, but madVR is good placebo at least. Still, the renderer doesn't change much if the source video is bad, the only difference between madVR and no madVR is that camera moves a bit smoother in 24FPS animu.
