It still frazzles me that people actually compare distros, distro-hop, etc. The one and only thing you should care about when considering a distro is what package manager it uses and where it gets its packages from. Everything else is the same, except for what, which DE it uses ootb? That you can literally change in under 5 minutes?

because mate (like ubuntu), is small, unobtrusive .. an OS Like xubuntu & the OS ceases to be an issue. Like reliable well fitting, pair of shoes. Unfussy
