I, uh, installed 4chanX alongside dE to get legacy captcha. It doesn't have noticeable performance impact if you disable all other 4chanX's functions.

Nope. Normal osx apps.

To open the "choose a file to upload" dialog, click the "no file". It also shows animated previews if you put a gif or webm here.

i3 is nice, it really is, but honestly I would prefer use it on a low-performance build. I'm feeling more like going with Cinnamon or KDE, well, or Enlightenment, each with their standard wms or file managers. GNOME3 is per se fine too, but I'm afraid too much work to configure just right.

It's such a tough choice for me, really. On the one hand I really like some of the look and feel of the GNOMEs, especially most the the things 3 binds to the super-key. KDE is gorgeous, and from what I've been told more convenient to configure in every little detail. And enlightenment is quite novel in it's own right, but no idea how easily configurable it is yet.

I've never used Enlightenment, but it looks quite interesting. I've used GNOME, but I prefer KDE. Although my favorite DE is actually Unity. To me it's like a mix of GNOME and KDE. Also, KDE is very configurable, but I think (not sure) there are more themes for GNOME, but KDE stock themes are quite nice. But yeah, KDE has a lot more customization, I like Kwin, and (idk if this matters, it's just a nice aesthetic I had when I ran Arch) you can make your terminal blur, not just transparent.
