BUT I can enable it (and did) and I will get legitimate encryption not bullshit apple offers. I also disabled android device manager as an admin. If my phone gets lost or stolen the data on it is safe, nobody but me can access it.

It's easy how to flash android back to factory setting even if it's locked with passcode.
With Apple, you need to activate the phone with the user's Apple ID.
