I like tiling on my laptop because arranging windows on a tiny screen with a trackpad is a nightmare, and I like to just open up a couple windows with a keybind and have them tile for me.
I use a dynamic WM on my desktop but generally float stuff because mouse + 5 multihead workspaces on 2 monitors, but sometimes I tile info or 4chan/music on my second screen.

It is rather slow for a Chromium based browser, but at least it doesn't hang when loading too many tabs at once. And it's the only way to get tree style tabs on Chromium based browser that I know of, after Google removed it from Chromium itself.
