Purge the homepage, wipe it with 200 cycles of zeroes. The shadows are also too big, make them subtler. GTK could use some more contrast too. You have good colors, use them.

It's like, the opposite of opiates for me. I think most people have that thought. I certainly used to, when I was more unhappy. What I came to realize though was that while I didn't like where I was living at the time, or the way I was living either, the real problem was internal and working on that did a lot more than moving ever did.
