What VM is recommended for classic gayming? I want to play AoE2 (the steam version) on my Arch but Wine is too buggy for it to run correctly. Are some proprietary VMs better than virtualbox-ose?

1. Virtualbox is a Type 2 hypervisor
2. KVM - included with the larger distros - is a bare-metal, Type 1 hypervisor
The short of it: use KVM.

But Steam AoE2 has a Linux version.

not him, but I tried to switch from virtualbox to KVM a while back. for some reason running the same OS in KVM was horribly laggy.
Was doing Linux-on-Linux, looked into it and saw that when run under KVM X.org was pegging the CPU at 100% whenever I did things like scroll or move windows around. I never found a solution to that. If you have one I'd gladly go back to KVM, since I really hate anything Oracle touches

It's Vancouver(near the burnaby border, or possibly in burnaby), I live there and recognize the buildings/area.

Are people running Windows 10 on KVM? I have legit lisence which I have got by upgrading from 7
Does it run or will it bitch about hardware? Running on same computer.
QEMU+KVM

Vancouver is a cool city but this is a fucking shitty apartment. I'm guessing this is hyper expensive for where it is

ALL housing in Vancouver and every single one of it's suburbs are insanely expensive. There is a housing shortage here and a bubble. You cannot buy a house for less than $1m.
Just use Windows already.

Best VM: Obtain a shitstation someone else scraps away. Athlon/Pentium, 1 GB DDR, Radeoon 9800.
Especially 3D games run into problems with VMs. I did that with King Kong (2005), it didn't work, I got me a shitstation with XP and it worked perfectly.
