I'm sick of consoles and now have some money to buy a GTX980 edition

is the Ti really out of your budget? It wont make a mind blowing difference but extra memory and extra performance might make a difference on games to come (unless you plan to upgrade next year)

That's why I've been reluctant to start a build.
But I'd still rather start a high end-ish build now than wait for the new card to be released, unless the price is similar to the 980's original price here.
I just want 60FPS at max graphics ;-;

Id go with this if you're impatient. If I were you though I would wait for the new technologies to come out (Pascal/Polaris, Zen/Kaby).
