I was planning on using my old Galaxy Nexus until it broke beyond the point where it's worth the effort and price to repair, but I got this Nexus 5 for free a few months ago. I'll replace the battery with a bigger LG G2 battery when the original one dies.

Got my iPhone 5 a few weeks after it's release, was upgrading from superior Nokia 6233. I see no reason to trade for modern models or something on android or windows platform. It just werks great with iOS 9.3 atm. A fucking live true definition of future-proof tech.

The only problem I am experiencing right now is that camera just feels like getting worse and worse with every major iOS update. I dunno maybe it's just me, but my photos taken during iOS 6 era are looking better than my recent photos from iOS 9.
>>
>>53773296
I was running CM13 with greenify+aggressive doze and some services disabled in amplify. I would get 7 hours SoT everyday. Stock battery and stock cm kernel. It was pretty nice. This note 5 gets about 4-5 hours SoT, which isn't that bad of a downgrade, but it's still annoying to plug in my phone when I get home.

Got a Lumia 620.
Now that I won't get Win10 and soon about 90% of my functionality will become obsolete, like the navigation app that won't be updated anymore and is likely to disappear from the store at some point, I'm seriously considering to go back to my N95.
It was a beautiful phone and was a trusty fellow at my side for four years. Pic related.
Sure, its navigation is ass, the battery even weaker than modern smartphones and the browser basically non-existent, but it's objectively superior in most other functions.

I miss buttons.

g3 guy above here, i got an upgrade over verizon to 6.0 and then got another one yesterday....to 6.0 again.

i think it was a bugfix for the power on button not turning on the screen which was a bug introduced with the new android build, so i've been exclusively double tapping to wake it up for the past month whereas i usually go for the button.

did you have that issue? it was a known bug so i'm sure a lot of G3 users did.

Been looking at the Asus Zenfone 2 128gb edition. Local Microcenter has it for $320 right now. Pick up an additional 128gb MicroSD for $30 from there as well. Are ROMs available for the Zenfone 2? How is build quality? Root?

Either thay or buy the Moto X Pure off my buddy for $200.

Currently on an LG G Stylo from T-Mobile. On android 6.0. Decent phone but the cpu is rather slow for multi-tasking and video decoding.

Thoughts?

htc one m8

I bought the gpe so it is unlocked and gets treated like a nexus device.

The charger port is a little wonky but I plan on replacing it myself, along with the headphone jack.

While I have it open I will probably replace the speakers since they got wet and sound a little weird now. Might even replace the battery with a brand new healthy one, but I'm not sure if that is necessary.

I don't even have to do these repairs, it would just be nice. And since I don't plan on upgrading for a while it would be nice to give it a little "tune up."

I actually have an N73 lying around somewhere. Never used it, though, because it was my brother's.

Imagine a 2016 line of phones that remake the N95, N98 (that was the touchscreen version with qwerty keyboard, right?), 3310 and shit with updated hardware.
I'd kill for an N95 with thrice the battery capacity (Yes, modern batteries at the same size can have twice or thrice the capacity compared to back then), proper GPS navigation, nice browser, a touchscreen for browser/image/GPS manipulation, micro USB charging, fixed OS (Symbian had a hell of a lot of issues, even if shit like quick access buttons was really useful for note taking and stuff) and possibility for actual upgrades.
It could actually gain additional features because of shit like micro-USB - The saved space in the chassis can be used for something else.

However, I'm iffy on Android. Mostly because Symbian has the honor of getting no NSA attention.
I'd also say that there'd need to be a remake of certain apps, like the note-taking app, because I'm pretty sure that Android doesn't have an equivalent where you just open the app and start typing with the phone's keyboard to get a new note.

We could have phones with six months battery runtime if we were releasing something like pic related now.
The Siemens S35 and Nokia N95 are my all time favorite dumb phone and smart phone.

and to top it off
>Cyanogenmod support

this phone will last me another 5 years easy. It's already been one and a half and there isnt a flagship which supercedes it in all ways. Sidegrading in tech is fucking retarded

when a phone with the same features and a better camera + mod support comes out I'll consider

Used my Sony Xperia V since February 2013.

But it got so slow so I replaced it with a Z5-Premium in late 2015, but someone stole it when I was drunk and I haven't found it ever since.

Now I'm stuck with a shitty LG G4-Beat, feels bad man.

nigger, the phone has a single battery that lasts for fucking ever. stop pretending that carrying 3 chinese batteries and a samsung phone in your pocket is a better experience

>>53789847
A lithium battery loses capacity as you burn through the recharge cycles. That phone will have maybe 50% capacity 1-2 years later.
That's why I said that.

Im note 2, but its starting to feel cheap, I have placed some orders on an aluminum bumper + a leather batterycover + a new battery. When I have all this stuff I'll drop 6.0.x on it and BAM brand new phone.
>>
>>53789905
I have Note 2 as well. I had it since last year.

Can't get M since the guy who had my phone last got all the OTA updates. Definitely getting a Nexus device when I do upgrade.

M8 reporting in. Fast as fuck. No reason to upgrade in the forseen time.
>>
>>53771786

I used my iphone 4 until the buttons stopped working and the cable wouldn't stay in then got an s5, realizing now I never need a new phone and that chasing the new models that come out every 9-12 months is a meme designed to steal my money, should have gotten a cheaper older model to begin with

Wtf? Why no ext4? I usually have files larger than 4GiB on it...

I don't know if I want to upgrade again, though. Took me quite a while figuring out what was wrong and I'm glad I have a working phone again after downgrading...

Just replace battery once it wears down noticeably
Latest Android, fantastic IPS screen (like it better than Amoshit with a higher resolution honestly)
Great third party support because Nexus device
My hardware is still going strong after buying it on release date and using it heavily daily (only the battery is in need of replacement)

Because if so cut my foreskin in two pieces

I upgraded 3 times in 3 years, like a fool I fell on the "good goy buy a new device once a year" wagon.

I am currently on my note 3 and after replacing the battery once and the screen and USB port because I fucked it up, I don't see a reason to ever upgrade.

Replacement screens, batteries, and USB ports are dirt cheap for a phone this old. It runs a clean Rom, and does everything I need. It's basically just a mobile web browser with added calling capabilities. I got a couple extra screen assemblies and batteries lying around, just in case.

Once the Internet gets so fucked up to the point where my mobile browser struggles to load a popular website,i will upgrade.

Galaxy S4 here as well but I know one day the display's going to die. It's increasingly dim and the bottom 10% flickers sometimes. I've already replaced the USB port and gone through 2 aftermarket batteries as well so at least I tried.

Is the Moto G 4G old enough to count?
About the only thing that seriously annoys me is the lack of RAM making the phone kill background apps when you open a web page.
And the built-in gyro is garbage, but it's not like a better one would suddenly make Google Cardboard good.
>>
>>53774011
Check the battery. I replaced mine and temperature improved along with battery life (due to battery wear). If you can get oem batteries great, I've been fucked before on 3rd party batteries.
