Anon who asked about MP3 players and I recommended the Ruizu X02;
I found the details about upgradign the firmware. Basically you just download and apply the AGPtek A02 firmware, they're essentially the same device but the AGPtek has been worked on more in terms of software and has different switches, identical otherwise.
Download the latest firmware from here:

It'll completely alter the UI (To something that doesn't make you want to die), fix the folder view problem and a few other tweaks and fixes. No reason not to do this if you have a Ruizu X02.
Presumably similar can be done for the other models which have mirrored AGPtek versions but I can't promise, only the X02 is confirmed.

So, I got the five pack of pokemon games (Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire, Fire Red, Leaf Green) and a custom "Shiny Gold" cart. The build quality is pretty nice and the plastic carts themselves are actually spot on. The PCBs are obviously fake with the most obvious issue that Emerald does not have a battery, see pic. It does, however, have terminals for a battery so I will try later (probably in like five or six hours) to solder on a battery and see what happens. When started, it gives the message that the save file will be loaded and that the game can be played. I am assuming that message is overwriting the "Battery has run dry" message since the carts do not seem to hold time when unpowered.
I started a new game on my fake emerald and saved it. After a few minutes of testing another game, I rebooted in my DS Lite with Soul Silver in it and tried to import via Pal Park and the cart was not recognized. I was able to boot the cart on the DS but it is not recognized in Soul Silver as a pokemon game so buying these for import won't work. I read that you can patch your NDS game to read 3in1s so I assume the same patch might work for these carts.

I did double check that Pal Park was working with both my legit Ruby (fresh save) and my legit Emerald (way old save). I was able to pull up the interface on my Emerald and the button to import did appear on my Ruby (but that's as far as I got since there would have been nothing to import anyway). The fake carts do not even have the option for import.
I just got the game and I believe that the seller tested them all beforehand so they all should save. I'll doublecheck later.
I didn't get very far in emerald but, in the ten minutes I checked it, it seemed to work just fine. Any time based events probably won't work, especially trying to grow any berries or doing the (I forget the name) low-tide/high-tide cave. I will try to battery mod this cart though and I'll let y'all know what happens.

These carts do not sit flush in a GBA SP. They stick out a millimeter or so.
Go figure, the Shiny Gold cart does have a battery but that cart is flashed with a rom based off of Fire-Red, which does not include a battery in the legit cart. In fact, I have no idea what the battery even does for this rom. I might just unsolder this battery and transplant it to my fake emerald and see what happens.

I did google it and apparently there is a DS Tool that may allow me to do exactly this. I suspect I'll run into issues though so I'll do some more research and I'll post back in probably like six or seven hours.

No they are most definitly fake carts. I do not have a Fire Red or a Leaf Green to side-by-side compare but I know that the Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald carts are fake and can prove the Ruby and Emerald fakes just by side-by-side comparison. The stickers are glossy plastic (looks better IMO) instead of glossy paper (harder to fake), they have the wrong Nintendo Seal, the wrong font for ESRB rating, and the Nintendo logo on the sticker is wrong. Also, the PCBs use the wrong NAND, the wrong contacts (legit carts are gold plated while these are not). No legit pokemon game ever says that the save will be loaded upon entering the main menu. That message is modified from the original "Battery has run dry" message due to the lack of the necissary hardware to support the RTC. I don't really care that much because I bought these mostly as an experiment and to fix the physical broken cart of my legit Ruby.

Proper SATA is really important, especially if you want to use your device for anything that requires reading and saving data (e.g. media server, NAS, seed box).
Orange Pi are budget boards, none of them had proper SATA controller so far.
Banana Pi are better, these models have proper SATA controllers: M1, M1+, Pro, R1 (Router)
USB drives are slow and you will run into the same bottleneck as with onboard USB-to-SATA bridge chip. I haven't heard so far about any board with USB 3.0 ports.

Voila. Seems to be the only board I can find/remember that has actual USB 3.0 on board... but no SATA. Also, I feel like the SATA speeds are kinda wasted, because my upload is only 1MB/s, so data is really only being read 1-2MB/s from the drive, maybe more.

No, I'm pretty sure it doesn't. Sunxi Linux wiki lists USB-SATA chip, but doesn't go into details. From the pictures it looks the same as GL830 on Plus (I couldn't find one that would show the chip with inscriptions). Normally for SATA to work properly with good speeds, it should be supported by the SoC, not external chip.

No, the H3 SoC does not support SATA at all, it can't be connected in any other way to the board than through USB.
No, you can't SATA controller chip, if your SoC/CPU does not support high-speed bus. It needs to either expose SATA connectors (like A10 and A20 SoCs) or other high-speed system bus (like most x86 CPUs).
If you want board with SATA, look for boards on Allwinner A10 or A20.

It only requires a flash cart to flash a rom to it. Once it's flashed it works well on its own and is fully compatible with GBA. I have one and an Acekard 2i and it's perfect OOTB compatibility.
