So I decided to go against /g/'s recommendation and take the Windows 10 free upgrade? Why does every talk badly about it so much. I've been using it for one week so far and haven't had any problems. It's much faster than Windows 7 and it runs my games better too? Why does everyone hate Windows 10 so much. It's fairly decent imo.
>>
I agree with you
>>
>>53729782
Yeah I don't understand what all the hate is about either. It looks much nicer and more modern. The appstore is great. What's there to dislike about it?
>>
I have noticed Windows 10 uses a lot less resources than my Windows 8.1 install. Windows 10 is where Microsoft got everything right about windows 8.
>>
It's a great OS just nutjobs think telemetry is ebil
>>
>>53729782
Well honestly I LOVE windows 10 so far. It's free, fast and great. I have had ZERO problems with it unlike the vocal minority.

yes, and us nutjobs also think that freedom is great and you should be able to decide whether or not you want Microsoft (or any other company, for that matter) to know what you are doing with a device you own because you paid for it. it's called ownership. look it up, it's in the constitution.
>>
>>53729782
I tried recommending windows 10 to people only to be drowned out by paranoid idiots. It's an amazing operating system with a lot of improvements over its predecessors. It's also a lot more secure than previous versions of Windows.
>>
>>53729790
I had some small driver issues at first, but Windows updates fixed that. I don't get why people are complaining so much either. There's nothing really wrong with Windows 10. I recently put it on my mothers computer and she liked it a lot more than XP.
>>
>>53729847
>you should be able to decide whether or not you want Microsoft (or any other company, for that matter) to know what you are doing with a device
Then how come freetards keep trying to decide for me?

yeah i agree with you. jesus christ they can't even leave a thread alone without being triggered. As soon as someone wants to have a decent discussion about windows 10, a bunch of paranoid basement-dwelling neckbeards start crying shill/botnet/spyware and start spamming their nonsense. I wish the moderators would do something about this for a change.
>>
>>53729782
Same here. I was skeptical at first, but the Windows 10 free upgrade was a pleasant surprise.
>>
>>53729847
Wtf does the constitution have to do with this?
>>
>>53729876
What service is that drone providing in exchange for recording?
How is telemetry the same as recording literally everything?
What does that last panel mean?
These questions and more answered never, because freetards will avoid them or move the goalposts.
>>
>>53729872
if you want to use win10 and the telemetry function, nobody is objecting to that. what people are objecting to, however, is that microsoft forces win10 on people with automatic updates and with preinstalled systems (because not everybody is capable of reinstalling a different system) and is thereby willingly violating people's rights. and "then don't use win10" is not an excuse since that is not a possibility for many people.

what freetards are thus saying is not "don't use win10", what they're saying is "fight for your right to decide whether or not you want to be spied on. it should matter to you to have that right whether you make use of it or not".

like free speech. even if you don't make use of it, you should still know why it's important and fight for it.
>>
Windows 10 is free and great. No complaints here!
>>
>>53729931
The freetards are just like the so called sjws they claim to hate. except instead of misogyny and racism they whine about "spying" in Windows.
>>
>>53729933
>like free speech. even if you don't make use of it, you should still know why it's important and fight for it.
Because other people have something to say? So I should care because other people have something to hide?
Stop using that analogy, it's dumb as fuck.
>>
>>53729926
freedom of ownership. you have the right to own stuff and control what happens to it. a.k.a. if you own a device, you control what code gets executed on it, you and you alone. if someone else wants to execute code on it, they have to specifically ask you. telemetry is executing code you didn't necessarily ask for to gather data you don't necessarily want to give away and send it to people whose trustworthiness is at best doubtful, considering you don't know who these people are, specifically, and they allow for yet another set of people to get hold of your data by becoming a valuable target by means of having all that data. basically, you can now get robbed of your very own data by someone accessing a microsoft server. great achievement.

>>53729931
the drone offers "safety", as stated in the first panel, in exchange for recording.
telemetry is the same as recording literally everything in that it records literally everything. which is what you have to assume, given that you're not actually told what is being recorded.
the last panel means that the civilian is recording the conversation with the drone, which the drone objects to because it objects to the idea that transparency should go both ways in a perfectly safety oriented space.

these questions, and happily more, answered. you cunt.
>>
seriously Pajeet, who are you trying to convince here? we all know you're one person on a board which hates the exact thing you're shilling for.

>>
>>53729967
this isn't about "what do you have to hide" argument. microsoft isn't the government. they aren't offering improved safety for your life. the "something to hide argument" does not work in this case.

the "you should have the right to choose" argument, however, does. if you don't give a fuck about your rights, fine, i'm done arguing at that point. incidentally though, i'd rather you did care about your rights.

is this like some pathetic form of damage control or something? Is it really that hard for you to believe that there are people here that like Windows 10? It's a pretty good operating system, you should actually try it first before acting like a paranoid asshole.

>let's wait until we have prove before we do something about it, even though we can see right fucking now it can lead to problems and violation of rights

the word "freetard" has always been peculiar to me. you americans are always so proud of your freedom, but then you go ahead and shame the people who fight for it, thereby defending the companies that shit on it for monetary gains. why is that? you cunts.

When did you ask for safety?
When using windows you ask for a functioning os and get one
>>

it's not hard to believe that it is a nice operating system at all. if only they gave you the freedom to shut off the fucking e.t.-phones-home feature, everybody would be happy.

>>53730110
The telemetry can be disabled. They made it easy even for the paranoid skiddie idiots like you, knowing the main user base that would bother doing this.
>>
>>53730100
the drone is an analogy, you massive shitlord, how do you not understand this? the comic was obviously aimed at government surveillance, not at microsoft. which makes it even worse they don't let you turn off that feature because it doesn't even give you that benefit - all it does is monitor you in ways which are not entirely clear to collect data of which it's not entirely clear what it's being collected for.

>>53730092

yeah, kinda the point is that all major review sites have found that you can't. even microsoft have stated that you can't fully and promised they will address this issue "later this year".

Go post something in favor of feminism on /pol/, right now. If your post is inflammatory enough, you'll get a few people basically telling you to fuck off, maybe one or two posts will rebut your argument with citations, and a few posts will make fun of you. If it's a boring post it will just quietly drop off page 10. In either case you'll be free to post as much as you want. Most /pol/tards support this system.

Try the same on /r/twoxchromosomes, except against feminism. One of two things will happen. You'll be immediately banned and get a notification of it, or you'll be shadow-banned and you'll think your post just has no replies, when in fact no one can see your posts, even though to you, it looks like you're still able to post just fine. Most twoXwhores support this system.

Windows has been backdoored since Win98. Bill Gates has even came out in support of helping the government. Just think about it from another side for a moment. The government can search your home, phone records, bank records, but they can't check your computer if it's encrypted? The goal they want to create is licensing out people that are allowed to have encryption that can't be broken and has no backdoors. They see it being similar to a person's right to a gun but not everyone can have an automatic weapon. If you modify your weapon to be automatic then you get in trouble.

It makes sense on a government thinking level.

I'll let it be noted that I'm for encryption.

TL;DR
Install Windows 10, it doesn't matter. Windows has been backdoored for a long time.

it holds true, since the drone doesn't let you opt out.

as i said, if you actively opt in to always-on telemetry shit because you need a robot voice to start your programs, that's fine by me. just don't MAKE everybody eat your shit.

true, but the real open source "craze" arguably started with linux and the advent of the www, something between 25 to 20 years ago.
