Ok guys, I have found something strange. I am no expert so I'm genuinely curious to see if there is a reason behind this other than the Chink lying to us.
As you can see from the picture, according to Wikipedia these modules have a maximum efficiency that makes it impossible for them to deliver 1000lm while only consuming 8w.
I notice they state they have 69 emitters. At full power they would then be producing 3450lm at 34.5w consumption. I assume what happening here is that each module is controlled to receive less power. Or maybe I'm reading the wikipedia chart wrong...

The reason a lot of people have suddenly turned against them is because this one autismlord tested how close you can make hybrids and piston 3's sound to HD600s and piston 3s were closer on the treble.
What the unwashed masses here understood that to mean is that the hybrids are now absolutely unusable and irredeemably shite, despite still being some of the best earphones available, especially at the price bracket.

I haven't tried something that small so I wouldn't know, my bluetooth is on a pci-e 1x card inside my motherboard with antennas so I get really good reception (at least 5 meters, through walls) but if I unplug the antennas it becomes 50cm/line of sight. The problems I was having relate directly to the bluetooth card shitting itself if my computer blue screens/force restarts, won't work until I reseat it.
Assuming your mouse gets good reception with that a PS4 controller should have no problem.

Piston 3 is better because it is cheaper, has better treble.
Hybrids is better because far higher construction quality, has better bass.

AliExpress is a wild west eBay where Ali will damn near always side with the seller if you ever run into problems.
Gearbest is just one of many online stores like BangGood, DealExtreme etc. there are no different sellers when buying from GB it's just GB.
They usually get their stock directly from warehouses/brands etc whereas AliExpress sellers have to mark shit up.

I got a headlight bulb that was supposedly 3000 lumens/32W. When it arrived, - heatsink happens to be marked as 2000 lumens/18W. Thing is, for $9.80, with a built in solid heatsink/fan combination and recent-manufacture LED, still a good deal. The seller probably couldn't even read english and possibly was going on second-hand information, there was no marking on the box. Hell there could even be some sort of custom overdrive in it and the thing is really making closer to 3000 lumens. Gives off a lot of heat.
If you can't personally examine the merchandise, there are a lot of people who will be able to and their verdict counts, so products will get better overall because of that. One tip atm is to try to hunt more yellowy-tint "white" LEDs. Not bluish or reddish. The yellow phosphor combinations have a bit more sophistication (ie. less budget supplier) in them.
