Ive used bbzero with more success on support. bblean has worked sometimes.
Not too heavy on rice here, just going for a usable desktop that lets me get stuff done... Uni life won't let me throw too much time into ricing. Not pictured: the global dark theme switch.
I was using gnome-session-flashback + openbox in the past, but since it keeps getting more and more broken I was forced to switch to something else and cinnamon seemed to be the only reasonable gtk3 option.

All you need is in the terminal window on screenshot. Still...
Distro is Ubuntu 15.10, you have to install cinnamon desktop environment, grab the numix theme (there's a ppa for it - probably the fastest option, just google numix ppa) then just tweak the settings through cinnamon's settings gui. Now I am using a newer version of cinnamon than what Ubuntu has in their repositories, but the difference shouldn't be too big.
Other than that the terminal is 'terminator', and here's the wallpaper:
