Trying to remove a directory tree in Windows:

rmdir /s /q "C:\Program Files (x86)\Citrix\GoToAssist Remote Support Customer"

Output:

Probably the g2ax_service.exe is still running in memory that depends on those dll files.

Close the process/Stop the service first and try again. Also, it would probably be better than you ran the uninstaller rather than just trying to outright delete the folder

So I'm trying to move the movie to my 32gb sd card so I can put it on my PS4?

But it's giving me this message

What the fuck can I do?
>>

Forgot to mention, I killed all the running related processes first, that's a difference error message.

This worked for that part:
taskkill /f /fi "IMAGENAME eq g2ax*" /im *

I do not have access to the machine's GUI, just remote command line.

The uninstaller is broken, I am nuking some directory trees and a registry hive.

Torrent windows 7 + daz loader (be sure to find an uninfected version)

Or you can stop taking memes seriously and use windows 10. Or you can take memes even more seriously and install gentoo.
>>
>>53643043
I believe that's due to the PS3/4 only supporting FAT32, try exFAT
>>
>>53643029
What do you not personally like about Windows 10?

Is it the memes?

It's better in every way from a performance standpoint.

GUI and privacy memes are subjective, of course, so if that's why then carry on.

Or get a network card.
>>
>>53643058
Hmm... maybe taskkill doesn't work with system installed services? Run sc query and see if anything related is in there, then sc delete (if you are absolutely sure) then try again.

If that doesn't work try looking up if it's a NTFS ownership/permissions problem (Administrator isn't the highest level permissions in windows. There is NTAUTHORITY\SYSTEM above that and TrustedInstaller above/besides SYSTEM). If it is, take ownership, set permissions to full, then delete.

If that doesn't work, try rebooting the machine and see if the handle is closed on restart.

If that doesn't work, try psexec -s to run in system privileges

If that doesn't work, give up or boot into a linux live distro and nuke the files from there
>>

Back it all up, format it to exFAT using your OS and then copy the file over. You can format your SD card however you want as many times as you want.

I'll try system permissions, and maybe there's something I can do with:

I'm not entirely sure of the flags of cacls, will have to do some research.

How important is it to ensure whites look white on your display?
My tablet displays Whites great, in comparison everything has a yellowish tint on my Laptop. I changed it up in some settings and pretty much made things brighter and now the Whites are better, but videos sort of don't look as nice as before and blacks don't come through as well

No, I can't because the option is disabled, so the certificate was imported and ticked the box so the private key can't be exported.

that depends on where you cap the "not so modern games" at, I was very much looking forward to Witcher 3 and I got to play 768p@60fps on the lowest settings possible without drops.

a good 1080p screen is cheap and easy to find nowadays. Beyond that, there are benefits to having more screen real estate, and honestly 1080p should be considered the minimum for a main screen today. I want to dual boot Debian 8.3 next to my existing Windows 10 install, leaving Win10 just for incompatible videogames.

I will move everything else (media, data, etc) to my Linux partition, Windows will be literally just for games.

Are there any special precautions I should take apart from backing up my personal data (Already did with File History on an external HDD. But I have a feeling there are better solutions - I need it to be not-Windows-centric since I'm going to be moving the stuff to Linux), or is it just a matter of sticking a boot USB in and partitioning?

I should say, my desktop has an SSD and an HDD, and I ideally want to have just the OS files in the SSD and all my data in the HDD (like I do with Windows). WIn10 is in UEFI mode, so the SSD already has a couple of GPT partitions.

For the past month or so my computer seems to have these stupid periodic 1-2 second lag spikes/freezes on certain programs for no fucking reason. I feel I may have said shit about it here before but either to no avail or responses didn't come until after I was gone, but I have no idea what to do.

It's mainly with emulator shit like PCSX2 and Dolphin. They'll run fine for a while, then the speed will drop to 40% or so, the CPU usage from that program will spike, and then after about a second or two it'll go back to normal.

This didn't start happening gradually. It just started happening out of nowhere a month or two ago. It's really fucking annoying.

I feel frustrated for not understanding what seems like an issue that should be easy to avoid. If it's my computer just finally getting too old and shitty, shouldn't it be a more gradual change? I can usually play other games just fine, too, it's just random shit like emulators and video players that have this issue.

If it has to run windows xp only then Microsoft Security Essentials is the only lightweight antivirus that I would recommend.Its performance impact is least.
Remember to use version 4.4.304 as later version caused cancer like "end of support " and red, red everywhere.
So ,use version 4.4.304. You can get it from here,
http://filehippo.com/download_security_essentials_xp/

For its updates you can update it from internet or manually by downloading and executing the update file from here, https://www.microsoft.com/security/portal/definitions/adl.aspx

I would recommend a clean reinstall of Windows too.
There are a couple of other things too that are useful, i can tell if you want.

Currently looking for a laptop for when i got back to school this summer to finish up the last yr for my degree. Portability and battery life are most important for me, I mostly plan on using it for browsing the web, word processing, and streaming music/movies though i'd also like to be able to run programs like photoshop and ableton smoothly

Price isnt too much of an issue now but I wouldnt want to spend too much since I plan on being a broke college student for the next year and figure the less I spend now the more food/beer I'll be able to buy later on

Anyway, I think I've narrowed it down to the Asus UX305 and the Dell XPS 13

I'm leaning toward the Asus atm. I can get the 8GB RAM/256GB storage for $200 less than the Dell model with ony 4GB/128GB

Does anyone have experience with the Asus, if so how is it? Would it be worth it to shell out the money for the Dell?

My computer running windows 7 has recently getting random lag spikes that last anywhere from 5-20 seconds.

It's seemingly random and happens whatever I'm doing, usually just running firefox with 2-3 tabs.The computer slows but doesn't freeze. The mouse pointer will,trail in slow motion during the lag spike. I haven't got any programs running in the background, and I have no anti-virus apart from Malwarebytes, which hasn't picked anything up in its scans.

is this the right screw for mounting a motherboard in the case's standoffs? also why dont standoffs come set already, or built in the case itself withotu being a separate thing
>>
>>53645782
because different motherboard sizes need different standoff positions.
>>
>>53645782
on some cases they do e.g. Corsiar 100R

however they can't have all of them mounted already because mATX and ATX have overlap in surface area obviously and if a standoff touches the board in the wrong place it might short.
>>
>>53643116
>Better in every way
can you show some benchmarks for reference
it might be better in some cases but its very far off from being better in every way. in low spec or old systems Win7 Starter or Win XP still are "better from a performance standpoint"
>>
>>53645782
Yes it looks right but ideally your motherboard box should have included the screws.

Standoffs don't come set already so that different case ,different motherboard can use them as required.

>Also that is one really old seagate HDD
Yeah, I think I got this computer in 2011 and have never upgraded any of it. It's done me good all these years, still playing some newer games with no problems, but I'm always worried it's age will catch up with it. I'm too broke for new parts or a whole new computer anytime soon.

>You only notice those problems while you are emulating?
It's MOST noticeable while emulating, but it happens with other stuff, too. When I try to watch videos with VLC there tends to be random bouts of lag and the like, same with iTunes.

not trying to be a dick here anon but you made a few mistakes
first, 970 for 8xxx series chips doesn't go well. Almost ever
Second, that board only supports the 4 pin, while this technically can work, power delivery is not as stable as with the 8 pin with the 8xxx chips.
Finally, that board has no cooling on the VRM, so you'll be lucky to make it a year before something fails.
I would either switch to a 6300 or return the mobo and get a better one, try the new asrock with the m.2 or the new asus board
you could also go with this board, I dont recommend 970 but i have a friend who built a rig with this and he's done just fine, its got the 8pin and a cooler on the vrms

hard disk is extremely close to death. Back your shit up immediately and get a new one. Use the mhdd iso to see what's wrong specifically after confirming it's dying/dead from the smart values from crystaldiskinfo etc.

Could be cables but that's very unlikely. If you have an external usb 3.0 enclosure etc. use that to mount it if it doesn't work internally.

In the next hour or so I'll be dual booting Debian into my Windows desktop.

I was meaning to ask you guys:

What precautions should I take for my SSD and HDD partitions? Will the guided install work fine or is it better if I do things manually?

I already shrunk my SSD to have an unallocated 60GB partition to install Debian on. I'm in the process of backing up my HDD personal data on an external HDD, then I'll be resizing that appropiately to put my personal data on Debian and leave Windows just for games.

Was planning to have my home directory and other volatile stuff on the HDD, with the core install in the SSD.

I made the Boot USB with Rufus on the GPT FAT32 setting, since I installed Windows with GPT as well.

My ADATA HD710 is acting up a bit.

It will always trigger the "USB Connection" sound on any PC I try it on, and turn on its blue light. I can hear it turning on and feel the disk spinning.

However it seems like it's a bit temperamental as to when it gets actually detected as an USB Storage Device by the computer. It depends on the angle that the cable is connected at. Sometimes it'll be connected, the sound will go off, and the light will turn on but without blinking, and then it'll turn off and nothing else will happen.

Other times I'll plug it in at a certain angle, the sound will go off, the light will turn on and blink, and I can actually use it and see what's inside.

Weirdly enough, I also noticed that even when plugging it in at angles that are not accepted at first (it turns on, blue light, then light turns off, no detection by OS) if I restart the PC then suddenly it DOES get picked up.

What's going on? Is it at danger of dying, or is it just a cable thing? I'm scared.

I think supermicro made a server board with these features. also the board is usually in a size that doesn't fit a majority of atx/uatx cases. so now you have to spend time adapting this shit.

What arguments can I use with the "Open With" extension to automatically add threads to ChanThreadWatch?

This function in written in c++ causes my program to crash, and I can't figure out why.
void safeArrays::setVal(){
int x = startPos;
while(x<endPos+1){

cout<<"Enter value for position["<<x<<"] :";
cin>>ary[x];
x++;
}
}

..where startPos=2, and endPos=12.Could one of you intelligent individuals help me?

what's ary?

Copying this from earlier thread

I'm on a modified dell t1650 (500W EA-500 Bronze, GTX 960, 8 GB DDR3 RAM, 1 TB HDD + 2 SSDs).
After shutting down my computer, I tried to turn on my computer only to find the amber LED blinking in the power button. It is a series of two beeps, a pause, and another two beeps. According to the owner's manual, this means "system board failure, PSU or PSU cabling failure". I did the paperclip test on my PSU, and it's working just fine. Do I need to buy a new motherboard? The ethernet cable LED is working, I'm not sure if that's an indicator or not. Also yes, I cleared the CMOS

I want to learn a language. What is the most versatile version, or at least the best version of C for creating an OS or working in Linux?

Also, why should I learn Python? I'm thinking of starting there to get some basics and then learning some version of C.

ary is the name of an array, which is a member of my safeArrays class. The loop runs fine, but at the very end of the function, the program crashes. When I debbugged it, it said that there was a "segmentation fault". Never had this issue before with user input and loops. Maybe it's a memory issue with the array member ary?
>>
>>53648678
show the declaration of it.
is it large enough to hold all the values?

post the full source if possible.

#include <iostream>

using namespace std;

class safeArrays{
public:
safeArrays();
safeArrays(int startPos1, int endPos1);
void setVal();
private:
void printArray();
void setArySize();
int startPos,endPos,arySize;
int ary[];
};

int main()
{
/**
safeArray object constructed with
@param startPos, @param endPos
**/
safeArrays myAry(2,13);
myAry.setVal();

}

//prints array values
void safeArrays::printArray(){
for(int y = startPos;y<=endPos;y++){
cout<<"Array["<<y<<"] = "<<ary[y]<<endl;
}
}

//sets size of array
void safeArrays::setArySize(){
ary[endPos-startPos];
}
/**
sets values for @param ary[]
**/
void safeArrays::setVal(){
int x = startPos;
while(x<endPos+1){
cout<<"Enter value for position["<<x<<"] :";
cin>>ary[x];
x++;
}
printArray();
}

//Constructors
safeArrays::safeArrays(): startPos(1),endPos(1){}
safeArrays::safeArrays(int startPos1, int endPos1): startPos(startPos1),endPos(endPos1-1){
setArySize();
}

Basically, I'm trying to let a user create an array that would never give an out-of-bounds exception.
