Why are GNU/Linux program and filenames so autistic? Like a text editor called fucking vi. How do people remember the purpose of all these arbitrary combinations of letters?

>>
>>53630531

This. And I've noticed that Linux is ultimately better. Gaming? Can easily use a gaming distro that likely runs just as good as windows or Wine. Programming? Linux. There's so many variants that there's at least one optimized for what you wanna do. And then stuff like Debian and their split offs like Ubuntu and such for general stuff.

Granted, there's not one universal distro that can compete with Windows at everything, but it doesn't have to. The variety and constant change is what keeps Linux desktops from being virus ridden spyware. Natural selection at its finest.

Windows is what you use when you wanna slack off and just do shit easily and run exes and use automatic installers because you can't be bothered. Linux is what you use when you want to do it right.

As I said it's a simple concept: English speakers mostly choose English names for their software, Spanish speakers mostly choose Spanish, etc.

Names like "Office", "Windows"or "Word" don't make a lot of sense in Spanish, Chinese, French, Italian, etc.

Are you going to complain that the most popular Chinese social network is called "Weibo" or some shit like that next?

Lemme guess, you think your local variation of Spanish (whichever it is) is the only legit one and all the others are weird or retarded, right?

Can you provide better names in Spanish or a explanation of how are they not representative of the function of the program?

Or are you one of those Anglophiles who takes every chance to put English words in their Spanish sentences and thus thinks only English names sound "right"?

There is no real difference between 8.1 and 10 except the desktop, 8/8.1 is more touchscreen oriented. 8/8.1 and 10 are written from ground up and are faster on a kernel level then 7, you can't argue with that. If you think 8.1 or 7 does not spy on you... On 10 you can do exactly the same as with older versions, turn shit off or use enterprise. Don't see the downside here on 10, why 7 and 8.1 are good but 10 bad.
