I can't argue with you not needing a desktop, they're really optional these days. I couldn't move to a laptop, I've tried, but I enjoy having a work-issued Macbook for couch surfing and what not. I imagine that 4k res really helps with your workspace, enough that you wouldn't feel the lack of another monitor too badly. I'd love a 4k, shit I'd settle for 1440p lol. The amp barely gets hand warm and has a fan for instances where it would heat too much. I've had the amp for 2 years and only heard it once while testing 10hz output at stupid volume.
The speakers on my computer desk are a pair of Salora KS-330's. The original 10" drivers blew the fuck up at a LAN party after someone had turned my amp to full volume and I pressed the ON button when coming back to my seat, so I got brand new MGR A-series 5" and 10" drivers for them.
The towers by the TV were made by some dude, he gave the away to the first guy who could make it to his door and that was me. Don't know about specs or quality, but they're really solid and pack a ridiculous amount of bass. Each tower is driven by its own Yamaha RX-330 amp, both of which were free from a friend after I fixed them.

They both had a flunky CD-Direct button, slightest vibration and one speaker channel would cut off.
So I removed the buttons and hardwired them to always ON since ON is the setting they need to be in for PC use, and all my troubles were gone.
I did offer them back to the friend who gave them to me since the fix was simple, but he said I could keep them :)

Because of the cheap material, however, that isn't that big of an issue for young adults and such, we don't make that much money. The problem arises when grown adults turn to ikea for their furniture needs. It is always better to get good quality furniture because it ensures longevity and value. I bought this ceiling mount but bolted it to my desk instead. It's attached to a metal plate under the desk so it distributes the weight to a larger area so the desk can withstand the pressure.
I was quite lucky with this project, actually. Found a 32" full HD IPS tv in the discount section of my workplace. It didn't have a stand so the price was like $150, but we have a discount week at work so I ended up getting for $90. I found the mount too while I was there, just my luck there was one out there and I got it for like $25.
Connecting it was an issue, but again the discount section saved my ass, managed to score a lenovo USB 3.0 to DVI adapter for next to nothing and after installing everything, it now works!
It's never been this easy.

Just really not a fan of tiny tiny keyboards. I like proper function keys, macros, dedicated buttons. Not hold FN for this or whatever. Also dislike white keyboards in general, plus the random colours around it. I just don't like the style. I picked up a couple 7inch lcd's for a sim project but are regular monitors when not being used for that. Can get em for like 40-75 bucks in pretty much any size you want. All you need to do is make an enclosure for them and could make it look like a mini crt ;)
