What is /g/'s opinion on RJ .5 connectors? How do you even crimp these?
Do you think it's worth rewiring miles of cable to double the amount of available rackspace?

On consumers tech, probably. For very small devices, tho wireless is most of the time just easier.
For the rest, I don't know.
Maybe for high end device that are able to handle double the amount of traffic. On the other hand, there's no real need to make devices smaller in those environments that have standardized sizes (racks for example)

Why not just shove Ethernet into USB-C connector?

>Do you think it's worth rewiring miles of cable to double the amount of available rackspace?
obviously no fucking way. "rackspace" is cheap as fuck, and adequate spacing is required anyway for cooling.
>>53605106
or how about "why"
>>53605146
Because USB Type-C has enough pin contacts to carry Ethernet.
>>53605146
because Job said so.

Oh cool I could have a 96 port switch that still only supports 24 ports of poe! Fucking waste of time IMO.
Just use cables with mtrj-jacks like any sane networkadministrator would do. Unless you need somethinng above 10gbit/s

10base2 4 lyfe~

>Rotate RJ45 plug 90 degrees
>Add more space
Is that so difficult?
