What now? Do I need "adblock blocker blocker" or something?

adblock for detecting adblock.jpg

What now? Do I need "adblock blocker blocker" or something? Why can't uBlock Origin guy fix this?

Anyway, discuss adblocking technologies. Is uBlock Origin still the best? I'm still using hosts file for most of the shit.
>>
Gorhill has fixed this.
>>
>>53578534
nope. it happened to me literally 5 min ago.
>>
>>53578521
Looks like you can just close that pop-up?
>>
Just boycott sites with obtrusive ads and let them know that you're doing it and why.
>>
>>53579037
yeah... just clicking anywhere around it will close it too. but it's annoying.

interestingly, if I disable uBlock Origin, it doesn't show up even though all of the ads are blocked through my hosts anyway.

so it's detecting the presence of uBlock somehow...

uBlock Origin > Dashboard > 3rd-party filters > Anti-Adblock Killer | Reek

No, you need to stop visiting this website. If everyone would do this popups like this wouldn't exist. There is plenty of shit on the internet, stop visiting garbage websites and find alternative, there is one for anything and everything.

The filter list doesn't by itself nignog
>>
>>53578521
Which websites does this? I never encountered such messages and I'm not sure if it's just me going on the wrong type of websites or my anti-anti-adblock is working.

doesn't work*

This is the best answer.

Ublock origin can fix this easy.

Just a layer?
>Inspect element
>Delete

Script?
>open logs
>block adblocker script

LOL!! it actually REEEK

No script?

>Why can't uBlock Origin guy fix this?
ublock has a filter for this, enable it.
You could also use dynamic filtering or make your own static filter to get rid of it.

>>53579076
>hosts
Faggot detected, enjoy your slow ass connections. Use umatrix for this or add them to ublock.
>>
>>53584107
It's shit. Both Ublock and Umatrix alone can completely replace it.
>>
I keep getting ads on pornhub too :---\ ublock origin confirmed a shit
>>
>>53584403
>:---\
Kill yourself.

UBlock works with 3rd party filters, it's not its fault if you haven't updated them of if they haven't been updated.
Use uMatrix with it like any sane person.
>>
>>53578521
>uBlock Origin
tried using it for a week and it make surfing the web a chore. Fuck ublock, I'm back to using adblock+ together with "adblock blocker blocker" userscripts
>>
>>53584576
What? How so?
>>
Stop using that website. Tell other people it's shit and they shouldn't.

They don't respect their readers and that's a problem.
>>
>>53584595
'hide elements' is buggy as fuck.
>>
>>53584646
How so?

I just ignore sites with this bullshit unless they have a download link I need.

thats what you faggots get for shilling to normies
we had a good thing going and now it's over
>>
>I'm entitled to receive everything for free
Stop visiting these sites, problem solved.
>>
try disabling javascript
>>
>>53584576
>still using jewblock

You are either a retard or a shill.
>>
Get Reek for that, it includes scripts for most sites that have anti-adblock. You have to install the userscript itself via a script manager like Grease/Tampermonkey, and check the Reek list in uBlock subscriptions.
>>
I don't get why companies keep "fighting" adblockers. Fucking seriously.
This is coming from a guy who never used an adblocker.

Ever since blocking became popular the number of ads on websites escalated beyond measure, and that includes some retarded ads that redirect the website you are browsing to an ad-link.
I mean come on. Fighting adblock? Are you retarded? Those guys don't want ads so bad that they won't have any of your bullshit explanations. You're not hurting them. They'll find a way.

You're hurting us - your fucking ad income normies. I swear if this keeps up I will install adblock myself. Even my patience has limits.
Where's your profits then, smart-ass?

Fuck you sincerely,
Normie

PS. When will you learn, you idiots?
>>
>>53579076
>so it's detecting the presence of uBlock somehow...
No. It loads a script with a name like "advertising.js". That script removes the adblocker notice. But one of uBlocks filters (which you enabled) blocks that script.
>>
>>53578557
Update your filters.
If it doesn't work, purge and update again.
>>
use your hosts file

it will technically slow things down, but not by any margin you will notice
>>
>>53581962
Half the time for aggressive anti-adblockers, the anti-adblock URL's assign a randomized link to the nag messages, so adblocking one only means that another happens, and they tend to be joined at the hip to containers, so a global block takes the rest of the page with it
>>
>>53587095
Why not just use uMatrix or uBlock with just host filters? They will also allow you to replace noscript that way.
And actually you will notice if you redirect too much stuff.
>>
The user agent always wins this.
>>
I just go elsewhere.
>>
for a technology forum, a lot of you sure don't know much about something as fundamental as javascript and element blocking.

What a shame.
>>
This might be a retarded question, but why should the website know what addons I have?
>>
>>53589530
It doesn't
>>
>>53589552
So how can a website "know" that I use an adblocker and nag, I don't mean those texts that fill the empty space of the ad, but the script(?) based or whatever that fuck the page from viewing?
>>
>>53580663
>implying it isn't already effective
What are you mumbling about you moron?
>>
>>53589632
Uses a script that checks if the ads actually exist on the page. Their location, their css, etc.

It's simple
>Site is unusable at first
>Script that makes it usable is located in "advertising.js"
>Due to its name script gets blocked by most adblock filters
This method exists since many years. It is very reliable, easy to implement and cannot give false positives.
