Why is this laptop almost never mentioned?
I understand it's not your epic dinosaur laptop but it still is the most Thinkpad like Ultrabook, it even has a clitmouse and a great keyboard.
Yet whenever ultrabooks come up it's always Macbook vs XPS 13. Is there something wrong about the X1 Carbon?

I have the 3rd gen X1C that I use as my personal laptop. Nice ultrabook overall.
- Keyboard is soooo much better than the rMBP keyboard.
- Trackpad is meh, but usable.
- Has trackpoint
- GNU plus Linux support is good.
- Looks nice.
- Matte screen <3.
- 16:9 is pretty aggravating.
- Battery life is below average, but charges much faster than other laptops.
- I/O is nice.
- Can output 4k + native monitor res (2560x1440) pretty well
- More than capable of doing most non-gpu intensive tasks

I have the X1C3. It's great. It's expensive though. /g/ doesn't like expensive things unless you're playing games or something.
I also have a T420, an X220 and a bunch of other laptops. Historically I've preferred Macs for day-to-day personal use. I still kinda do, but they didn't have a brand new design when I was ready to buy.

I was going to buy the x1 carbon but I ended up going for the surface book. Battery life was the main reason why.
I sure do miss the trackpoint on my x301 but everything else has been a giant step forward.
