[html/css]
Can I define style in both the html and css? I want to define all the styling in a css sheet, except the body background which I want to put in the html file.
But when I define both a stylesheet with body attributes and a body background in html, the background doesn't load.

My Nexus 4 finally broke today, I'm feeling bad today, I had it for so long and did so well. With the phone market so far ahead I don't feel like it's worth repairing. So what's a good Android phone to get, I was thinking of getting a Nexus Device like the 5X or getting something a bit more beefy like a Oneplus 2

it's called css precedence or specificity, look it up. Last resort, you can use !important for page-specific overriding of global rules.

it's one of the things that define the "low-level" style, and it's not useful for everyone. It has the advantages of low-level.

There is no objectively best phone. It all comes down to your use cases and preferences. For some technological inept idiot that wants to use it as status symbol, an iPhone is probably the best. For someone who likes to customize the shit out of it, an Android is superior. And here again you can decide between best camera, highest performance and many others.

Basically no difference. The biggest one that matters is one includes the install.ESD file that is the most important file for doing a fresh install something like 3gb big. I have another question regarding 2560x1440 monitors.

So lets say a certain game I am playing plays perfectly at 1080p, but not so good at 1440p. Will the game appear smaller and scrunched up on the 1440p monitor, or would it still fill in all of the spaces?

I wouldnt want to order a 1440p monitor if everything I do on it will appear smaller and weirder. In that case I am better off with a 1080p monitor. However, I am willing to spend around $300 on a good monitor, and monitors in that price range tend to be 1440p, which leaves me confused as to what to buy.

To cut a long story short, I am attempting to retrieve messages from a deleted tinder account. I'm lead to believe this is possible as per the following link;
http://blog.avianblue.net/2015/01/recovering-tinder-messages-from-users.html

Since I don't have a rooted phone, I've attempted to download the sdk package which contains this ADB tool. I also had to install java, as well as finding the right drivers (I have an LG G2 international).

Ultimately I need to take a backup using the adb tool, but I'm already out of my league and can't get it to work. Neither the LG nor google drivers as per the link below allow my phone to be recognised in the command window when I type 'adb devices'.
http://www.howtogeek.com/125769/how-to-install-and-use-abd-the-android-debug-bridge-utility/

If anyone has advice on this matter it would be greatly appreciated.

I only know that the other display will be able to things to its own resolution but laptops mostly dont have the best cpu and another (higher resolution) display will ask a bit more power

if you got one of those badass gaming laptops or a new laptop this wont be as much as a problem but I have the same kind of resolution laptop screen so I know a bit how these laptops perform

thats all the knowledge I have about it goodluck man

if you want to make your own game the popular game engines all support most of the VR solutions already.

get ready for THE dumbest question:

1. what the fuck is an SSD - is it basically the same thing as a hard drive but just faster?
2. i hear people "install the OS on an SSD" does that mean you have to install the rest of your programs on an external? 300/500 gb isnt much.

yes, it's just a HDD but has no moving parts/platters.
Imagine lots of tiny USB sticks that are very fast.

Yes, putting the OS onto the SSD makes it run a lot better, same goes for (most) programs.
300-500GB is a lot just for programs, put your videos on a HDD since they get no benefit from a SSD.
>>
What codec do I need to play blu rays? GOM player and VLC both say they can't open them and don't know what codec they need either.
>>
>>53576791
My maximum would be 400€, but the cheaper the better.

It's going to be used exclusively for work, so MS Office and the usual thing, web browsing and light stuff like PDF reading and mail checking, something that can be done on any toaster, maybe SPSS too.

I want solid construction and warranty, a Thinkpad would do but I don't like buying used stuff with no warranty.

Raw power is not really important, but I want at least 1600x900 screen resolution and a keyboard that doesn't suck balls.
>>
>>53576881
it's not the codec, it's the DRM that fucks you.
you need a "certified" player.
>>
>>53576832
1.Think of a big memory card, that works insanely faster, and can read at any part of the memory at the same time also way less seeking/latency times that get rid of the problem of loading small files, HDDs have the problem they take too much time to read small files because they have to search them around the disk one per one, meanwhile SSDs do this way faster because they dont have to search one per one, also they dont have a startup time.
2.Because If your OS works faster all the programs will work faster too, you can have both in the SSD.

how about my vidya? does it make a difference if its run from the SSD or the HDD? im most concerned with my vidya games

Or rather, I should ask, will they load noticeably SLOW from the HDD because it's not where the OS & Steam is installed? I've never ran a game thats on a different disk from the OS/Steam
>>
>>53576978
I put my games onto the SSD, they benefit quite a bit from it, especially loading times.

Even bought a second SSD because I didn't like waiting 2 minutes for loading once you get used to 5 second loading screens.

it doesn't matter if steam is installed on a different drive, all that matters is how fast it is, you can even use an external SSD with USB3 and it'll be fine.

Help me understand this: when I open 4chan content (images, webm) in a new tab, and choose to save, it saves the content as something like 1386915075248.jpg, as opposed to the orginal file name. I've been saving images and stuff from 4chan over the years, but all the images are saved under that terribly boring and useless file name system. Is there a workaround here - a way to save the content with it's original file name intact? I'm going to make it extra difficult for you and say I don't want to use any special mechanisms to save the image - I want to open it the same way, and save it the same way. But maybe there's a script that can be implemented, if it isn't already?

If you're going full lossy I'd recommend encoding to MP3 or AAC instead unless freedom is your #1 concern. Both of the former options, *especially* LAME for MP3, are far far more mature than any Opus encoder out there and will produce results that are much closer to audible transparency.

An OS, hopefully. I've never done it before but apparently my friend might help me get some version of Windows for free. If I understand correctly, they leave a zipped .iso containing all the OS files on the portable drive, and when I turn on the computer for the first time, it'll ask where I want to boot from, and I'd just select the portable drive, right?
>>
>>53579500
So why doesn't it just ask me for the password when I create the file? It doesn't even give me the chance to enter it.
>>
>>53579587
Oh, you made it sound as if you wanted to boot a OS that was already in the device, not a installer.

You copy the Windows 7/8.1 ISO to the USB (Or make it bootable with rufus or unebootin).
Then set Boot priority on BIOS or if your motherboard lets you to select the device manually do that.
And windows will install.

Thats it.
To activate you use something like Daz Loader or MSToolkit.
You can download the real version of Daz Loader here:
http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/58464-Windows-Loader-Download

You cant just download the ISO or the Activator anywhere, some might come with malware you cant detect that easy.

Mydigitallife has the original Windows ISOs too if you need them.

I've fallen in love with the variety desktop background manager for linux. Is there an equivalent for windows (that randomly changes your desktop background every so often by pulling an image from some online source)

Thanks for the info. I don't understand what half of that means, but I'll show my friend just in case. Looks like I'm adding a portable HD to my cart!

Do you really need a UltraWide monitor?

Anyway sorry i cant tell you enough about it, i was thinking something like Asus MX239H or Asus PB258Q.

TLDR:
1.Download Windows 7 from a safe place.
Here: http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/56439-Windows-7-ultimate-x86-x64-ISO-Download
2.Download a program to make the USB be able to be used since you turn your PC on.
Rufus or Unebootin.
3.Boot your USB from BIOS.
4.Install Windows.
5. Activate windows 7 with: http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/58464-Windows-Loader-Download

If a fan wears out you can replace it
If the gpu melts your nvidia becomes a novideo
>>
>GPU fans spin on bootup but stop at login
>AMD System Monitor reads GPU at 0%
>reinstalled drivers even changed cables/moved PCI slots
>is recognized by speccy but not any benchmarking programs

I literally have no idea what to do at this point.
Been trying to fix this today for at least 6 hours straight.

Any ideas to point me in the right direction? GPU is R9 390 btw, only had it for about a month.

I'm desperate and poor.
