>Windows user
>I'm retarded
Surprise surprise
>arch is autist tier
I just like the way it works better than debian based
also the arch wiki is god tier
>>53444083
I got cancer of all the outdated packages, so everything is arch now.
>one option for Mac OS versions
>two for GNU/Linux
>3 for Windows
>put an Other anyway
what is wrong with you?
>>53444159
Well there are no BSD options
>>53444083
This. Ironically I had lots of breakage and problems on Debian but since switching to Arch it has been smooth sailing.
Wiki is obviously god tier, I don't really use the forum much, IRC is more helpful than #debian but less so than #crunchbang (size issue, really)
>>53444165
Ah, yeah, sorry. I mean, Mac OS is BSD but I get what you're saying. He should've just had
>BSD
>GNU/Linux
>Mac OS
>Other
or honestly
>Unix-like
>Windows
>windows 10 leading
>put tiers to linux
>no normie or underage tier for windows, or at least botnet
>no dual boot/vm option
delete this thread and start over
>>53444186
Nah, the poll is fine.
>>53444186
>delete this thread and start over
this
>no dual boot/vm option
this doesn't matter, fuck off
if we're talking primary computers let's talk primary operating systems as well you slut
>>53444186
>>no dual boot/vm option
It's about your primary operating system, not all the systems you use.
>practical distro
>every choice is just Debian or a derivative of it
OP is _literally_ retarded
>>53444181
/v/ is invading
at least their computers are up to date..
>>53444207
He's a Windows user, were you actually expecting him to be capable of setting appropriate non-Windows options?
>>53444186
it's pretty clear OP uses Windows and is trying to cover it
he probably also sent the poll to friends to inflate the Windows votes
>>53444207
This. Does OP know that Debian is crusty and old and meant for enterprise use only?
>>53444207
>>53444224
There are no practical distros outside of debian-based ones.
>>53444238
Except that's wrong.
>>53444207
please no bully
>>53444242
>paying for ledhat
>>53444238
I realize you haven't been using GNU/Linux for very long but you should try to avoid jumping to conclusions. You probably think Arch is hard to use too, right? And I bet you still giggle at the name "Fedora". I'm glad you're [probably] not using Windows, but you're not much better than them at this rate.
>>53444251
Try a little harder to hide your new, please.
Let's say you want redhat, there's both centos and fedora that are redhat-based and gratis.
>>53444251
Where did I say that?
Well guys, look like Windows 7 is the best OS. Time to go home.
>>53444186
Buttblasted freetard detected.
Proper poll

>>53444174
There are non unix-like operating systems that arent windows
>>53444174
>>53444313
Every version of Windows listed surpasses the entirety of Linux in terms of market share
>>53444358
And?
>>53444358(You)
>>53444358
Not in /g/
>>53444371
>>53444394
And /g/ follows suit too, it seems. There are far more Windows users than any other OS.
It makes sense to distinguish between more popular versions because it gives you more information. Whereas, if you distinguished low frequency OSs, it's harder to see the larger overall trend.
Furthermore, all Linux distros are essentially the same, other than how much pre-installed software they have. You can have the exact same desktop and functionality from any distro, so why bother?
>>53444460
Almost, if you don't count the bastard child that is Windows 8
>>53444512
You mean /v/ follows suit
>>53444512
>buttblasted /v/edditor
KEK
>>53444255
I am not him, but I have been using gnu/linux a long time, using various distros over the last 9 years.
Right now I am using an arch based distro.
It was nice at first, I have modified a few packages but mostly I just use the current of everything.
But once in a while you come across some project that is behind the curve and you have to make adjustments.
Eg I wanted to install some proprietary software that checked for if I was running a 64bit system with uname -i (which is doesn't work anymore for some reason, but it works on ubuntu)
Because I couldn't modify it, I had to do a weird hack to make it work.
Then I needed to compile some application and the project wiki lists dependencies as an apt-get command, again I have find the correct names for the libraries and see if that works.
A lot of the times, they are tested with the ubuntu LTS libraries, so best case I have to make some additional symlinks, worst case, I have to compile an old version of the libraries.
Now all these things pile up.
I solve my problems by using docker so I have ubuntu LTS, while still use the current applications that arch gives me.
An obvious solution would be to just use ubuntu LTS, but I can't for purely autistic reasons.
>>53444358
Who cares?
In real world Linux recently get 0.02% more than WIndblows Vista.
>>53444264
>fedora
Exactly. I said practical.
>>53444460
Are you sure about that?
>>53443825
>Way over my head
>I'll call it autistic
t. winkid with 3 brain cells
>>53443825
>>53444313
Oh boy I love polls and to complete surveys :3
>>53444512
Spotted the newfag
>>53444630
>Using obscure distros makes you smart
They're autistic as in you could literally be doing anything else, but instead you're endlessly configuring you desktop or fixing broken shit, you autist.
>>53444763
Are you implying
#apt-get install kubuntu-desktop
makes the difference between """"autist""" and a normal cuck? Nice logic anon
I guess I will install ubuntu server then,
>No GUI
>Not autistic
Well. At least now we know why /g/ is so shit these days.
