When will the GTX980 finally drop below $250?
it won't
it's still hard to find a cheap 680
>>53384017
hm, so if you wanted a cheap 980 you have to buy the 1060 or whatever it will be called?
>>53384073
i doubt the 1060 will be as powerful as a 980
Graphics cards don't really fall in value over time. Just look at the prices for older cards like the GTX 680. Granted, you might be able to find a cheaper used one in a few years.

It's absolutely mind blowing.
For the shits I looked for the 480 and people still successfully sell them for over $70.
Who the fuck buys a beaten to shit 480 that is also known to have temperature problems.

Tell me about it. I bought my 270X for about 135 eurobucks (used, almost as new) back in the day and managed to sell it for about 120. Hell, they still go for over 100.
let's see...
I have a couple ISA-slot VGA cards, a gtx460, a geforce gt220 (lol), an AMD HD4550.
Judging by how much people pay FOR CRAP on ebay, I could almost buy a 970 for that

When nvidia release Polaris then release shitty drivers to gimp the performance of older generation like they did with 780ti. But then again why pay 250 for gimped gpu at driver level.
>>53385581
you could still just install the last well working drivers and be happy with it.
no one is forcing you to install the newest drivers when shit's working well enough.
>>53383988
in a couple years once pascal is fully fleshed out
by then, I'm sure nvidia will find some way to gimp it a la kepler
>>53385740
No Microsoft and nvidia install it for you when you're not looking and kill your laptop screens
>>53385886
>having autoupdate on
that's actually ASKING for it.
>>53386538
