I'm looking for something lightweight, long duration battery, good manufacturing quality and a good screen.

Is it possible for around 1k € ??
>>
nope

/g/ should know better on this field.
>>
>>53310060
Come on, there should be something.

I'm sure the competition has pushed the market to make better laptops at lower prices.
>>
>>53310049
would strongly advise you to pay extra 200E and buy this:
https://www.computeruniverse.net/en/products/90620885/dell-xps-13-9350-4853.asp
The battery life on new xps with 1080p screen is supposedly very good (contrary to xps with 4K screen)
>>
>>53310217
Thank you for the advise man.

I've always had shitty laptops, and now that I'm making some money I want to finally reach for a better one that would last me longer.
>>
>>53310285
You can get a refurbished units as well a 1K E

>>
>>53310337
That's it. I think I'm going for this.

Much better.
>>
>>53310390
Make sure to get the 1080p - 8gb version though.
>>
Dell XPS 13 and Acer Nitro

You can get a custom one that's cheaper like by removing the hdd completely (you can use your old drive from your old laptop) etc. or just a refurbished one with a warranty.

Stay away from HP housefires
>>
>>53310337
SHIT price for shit hwardware

He can get an i7u + 16gb ram + 1tb hdd for like $700. It's also fucking 13.3" what the fuck. Not even IPS, doesn't even have a graphics card OR an optical drive, some people still use them!! Too fucking expensive.

>i7-6500U
>15.6 inches Matte FHD display. 1920 by 1080 resolution. Windows 10 Operation System.
>NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950M gaming graphic card (meh whatever, can play modern shit on low/medium)
>8GB RAM DDR3
>256GB SSD Storage. Backlit keyboard. 1 year International Warranty with 1 year Accidental Damage Protection

OR http://www.amazon.com/dp/B015PYYDMQ/ref=psdc_565108_t1_B0146DD02G
>Powerhouse Intel i5-6300HQ
>NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M 4GB GDDR5 (eh)
>8 GB DDR3L
>256 GB Solid-State Drive
>15.6-Inch FHD IPS, Wide-Angle, Anti Glare Screen.
etc

Many cheaper and better laptops exist.
Asus is is reliable quality (rarely they ship bad builds, you can check from the comments).
>>
>>53310665
Specs aren't everything. OP never sad he needs gaming laptop. And new intel iGPUs are more than powerful enough to run 1080p screen.
Not everbody need "gaming laptop".
>>
>>53310757
>"gaming" laptop
It's just a laptop, that's also cheaper and more powerful. I guess I'm basically saying he should look into asus as they have strong hardware for cheaper. Their "gaming" laptops have hugely successful (silent) coolers also, although they could be a of an eyesore.

No need to denigrate a good laptop when it has "gaming" in the title desu.

>OP never sad he needs gaming laptop.
You're right I'm not looking for a gaming laptop, just one with good build quality. But options like >>53310665 are nice.

That ASUS looks quite good actually however I'm quite worried with it's reliability.
>>
>>53310779
That Asus is worst than XPS in every category that matters to OP. It has worst battery life, worst trackpad, worst screen (TN vs IPS) less portable (15.6 ' vs 13.3),... All the things that matter to OP.
>>
>>53310665
Go kill yourself with your gaymen shit tier recommendations.

It's possible for $500, let alone $1k

>>53310049
either xps like everyone said or macbook air 13. thinkpads x2xx are lightweight, battery lasts a while and feel sturdy but screens are terrible.
>>
>>53310049
Find a cheap i5 T440s (~$350)
add T450s trackpad mod ($35)
add 256gb m.2 ssd ($75)
add 4GB RAM ($20)
add AU 1080p FHD IPS screen ($72)

For ~$560 total you will have a beast of an ultrabook
>>
>>53310665
>for hardware
>giving a fuck about laptop hardware as long as it's not some terrible low-end bullshit

what are you going to do with this i7 and gtx950m on laptop anyway? it's not good for anything except video games, and if you're serious about videogames, you surely have a desktop to play them. Laptop have to be portable "work" device, not a fucking 200w tdp dual gpu water cooling 1 hour battery on load monster.
>>
>>53310049
Any Zen book

Xps is plastic trash as far as build quality goes.
>>
>>53310665
>muh specs

I used to be the same way until I realized that all of the laptops that focus on specs only have shit build quality

It's much better to buy a business class notebook with a little worse specs that is built to last for several years

Asus laptops are absolute shit tier in terms of quality, keyboard and touchpad, only slightly better than Acer. If you think they're good you must never have had a Macbook or a XPS or a Thinkpad
>>
>>53312700
>plastic Xps

You clearly never used a zenbook before. Enjoy your flex.
>>
>>53312700
Dafuq man?

I would compare ASUS with Logitech in that they make reliable, long-lasting, high quality products. The only downside being mediocre aesthetics.
>>
>XPS 13
>not 15
it's only a couple hundred more but you get a much better quad core processor. 15" is still fairly portable due to slim bezels, and with tb3 you'll be able to hook up an external gpu to make it a solid gaming rig. the dual core in the 13 would probably bottleneck gaming if you tried to hook up an egpu.

literally why would you chose the 13 over 15

Asus isn't the dependable brand it used to be.

My dad bought a 17" asus laptop and sometimes I have to fix shit for him and it's the worst thing ever.

Even though it's bulky and heavy it flexes like a motherfucker, the keyboard is beyond horrible, it doesn't even register half of the keypresses, the touchpad is OK but unusable two handed, and worst of all, the battery broke already after not even a year.
It's also slow as shit, doesn't have an SSD, comes preloaded with 200 useless programs on Windows, I could go on for ages.

I never tried a Zenbook though, but after such an experience, I don't know why I should.
>>
macbook pro
xps 13/15 (although i hate how the screen clamps down)
>>
>>53314235
>Asus Zenbooks are god-tier

Ehhh, they're good by consumer laptop standards. I wouldn't put them up against a business line though.

gtx950m is low-end and is horrible for modern games on anything above low/medium. It is generally a good card for high/ultra on normie games like CSGO or whatever strategy games a lot of non-gamers fancy every now and again. You're right though, battery lasts anywhere between 2-4 hours on those things with power saving options enabled. They're also heavy. Point there I think is that it's cheap and strong and somewhat reliable.

>>53312411
>>53312700
>>53314258
Asus laptops were shitty until basically 3-4 years ago. They've massively improved reliability. If anything it's the new ones that are good and the older ones that are shit. This as far as build quality goes. Touchpad and keyboard are fine. Then again my only experience with a trackpad is from an HP d7 pavillion and 15 129 envy series which had mediocre ones. All in all it's just fine. Also macbooks are known to have the best trackpads although I've never had a problem with a trackpad. It's a fucking trackpad, if you don't like it update the synaptic drivers and hope for the best or just use a small wireless mouse damn.

>>53314282
>It's also slow as shit
If anything they're overpowered. High-end usually come with great hardware spec wise.

>doesn't have an SSD
Not really ASUS' fault. You can buy one with an SSD or upgrade. An 500gb evo 850 pro m2 ssd costs about $150 on amazon. 120gb =$80.

>comes preloaded with 200 useless programs on
Basically the only real problem. Takes about 30-60 minutes to get rid of it all. McAfee cancer too.

Personally I don't mind aesthetics or lightweigthedness so it makes sense to get something that covers all the bases in regards to what I could potentially be using it for, which includes a decent graphics card/games.

Afraid the thinner to remove their "republic of gamers" or whatever crap stamp would damage the underlying paint. Meh.

Anyway, 13-15" screens are shit for long assignments and the like. Get a 17 incher and you'll never look back.
>>
>>53310049
XPS 13/15 really look a lot more impressive when they come in the glass form.
