>>

All the info you need is on stallman.org
>>
>>52993165
what is that?
>>
>>52992612
Oh, where to start.

The first (and easiest) steps are simple enough. Iceweasel, noscript, https everywhere etc.

Next thing you may want to do is anonymize your browser's fingerprint. This can get technical. I'm sure there are guides and extensions available to do this but there isn't much I would be able to offer here.

Test your browser fingerprint here:
https://panopticlick.eff.org

After you have secured your browser, consider investing in a VPN. Mullvad and PIA come highly recommended. OpenVPN is the gold standard for VPN clients and works on most modern systems.

As far as communications go, PGP encrypted communications seem to be the norm. I'm not an expert here so I can't offer much help.

As for securing data on your hard drive, always use full-disk encryption (open source, else you risk backdoors). If you're feeling extra paranoid feel free to make encrypted containers/folders within a fully encrypted drive. For full disk encryption, I reccomend LUKS. If you're on linux, this can be done easily through a gui like gnome-disk-utility or gparted.

There are more comprehensive guides and resources out there, but this should give you a rough idea.

good sites written non autistically and in plain english:

thetinhat.com
installgentoo.com
prism-break.org
>>
>>52993000

I think that's true though. You can use things like NoScript/Ghostery, VPNs, and sign up for accounts with false info and turn off tracking and GPS location but in the end stuff always gets through.
>>
>>52993165
Stallman was a pioneer (which I regret haven't knew sooner.

Maybe OP wants a list, but any single one lacks something, even the complex ones
http://stalluminati.neocities.org/matrix/

Luckily for OP, I am building several guides, so first, lets start with addons. These are targeted to tweak Firefox (the most secure among the most common browsers), and you should check what each addon does so you understand why you need it.

(Cross-)Site Request: uMatrix (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/umatrix/).

Anti-XSS: uMatrix (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/umatrix/).

Trackers: uMatrix (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/umatrix/).

Referer: uMatrix (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/umatrix/).

User-Agent: uMatrix (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/umatrix/).

Cookies: uMatrix (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/umatrix/).

Security Settings: Privacy Settings (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/privacy-settings/).

SSL (strict HTTPS): HTTPS by default (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/https-by-default/).

URL Deobfuscator: Pure URL (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/pure-url/).

Plugin And Mimetype Enumeration: Disable Plugin & Mimetype Enumeration (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/happy-bonobo-plugins-mimety/).

Passwords: KeePassX "autocomplete" (https://www.keepassx.org/)

Browsing History Cleaner: Bleachbit.

That's right, with this and the list of addons you can know how traceable you are. Just a tip, some addons are specifically made to trick websites into thinking you are using a different machine ("user-agent") so it might virtually increase traceability, but in reality it decreases it (yeah, complicated, but a neat feature).

I could tell you even google is not safe, but you probably already know it.
If google isn't safe, then what is the alternative? The best one would be YaCy, a self hosted search engine. Of course it depends on you if you want to go this extreme, or you could opt for erasing your footprint from places like google:

Just lurk for a time before diving into any choice. For example, you never want to go with gentoo for your first experience, but lubuntu is the easiest to install. You could try using VirtualBox on windows to install linux on a virtual machine:

1) there are no women on the internet. Every woman is a bald 50 year old greasy male jizz monkey pervert pretending to be a woman

2) Every kid on the internet is actually a member of a vigilante anti pedo-group

3) There are no hackers on the internet, they are all cops

4) Theres no such thing as a free copy of windows

5) windows will bleed your family dry

6) windows exists to allow advertisers to suck the blood from your arteries and veins and to shaft your family collectively up the ass

7) keep the blinds drawn and your door locked

8) dont trust anyone on 4chan

Clean Links does a better job on a greater scale.

>HTTPS by default (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/https-by-default/).
It won't be better than the EFF's HTTPS Everywhere. You're likely to painfully break things otherwise

https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/https-everywhere/

>uMatrix for all
Sadly, uMatrix doesn't expose the URL of each resource. It show just a... matrix. You can get the URL of the specific resource only reloading the tab in the logger pane. And requests won't be sorted.
Policeman, on the other side, has Tor and I2P isolation rulesets and allows you to control exactly the URL of the blocked or allowed resource. uBlock Origin + Policeman may be nicer. Or uBlock Origin + Policeman + uMatrix. Or uMatrix + Policeman.

There are some nice tutorials online on how to disable MOST of the NSA shit in windows 10, but you will probably need to reapply them with every update.

Spybot anti-beacon is a nice free software that can disable a lot of the bullshit in Windows 10 as well.

I am currently using Windows 10 and have disabled most of the spying stuff and I enjoy it.
Combined with a nice VPN, Tor, and common sense you can remain relatively anonymous.
>>
>>52997572
Will a W10 NSA free version ever come out?
>>
>>52997588

No, but even if it did there is no 100 percent anonymity on the internet.

If someone from the gubment wants you, they can find you.

You can't disable the NSA from windows, because microsoft was the first company that was a part of PRISM. Microsoft has consistently showed that they will never fight on the users behalf, and even voluntarily discloses exploits to the U.S. government before patching them.

As far as we know, no other company goes out of their way to do this, and it's safe to assume that because of their actions, windows is a direct pipeline to the NSA.

It is possible to have privacy on the internet in 2016. It is just difficult and damn near impossible for the average normalfag to achieve.

The National Snooping Agency has direct access to virtually all underwater telecom cables. AT&T, the largest ISP in the US, should be considered a government agency - they act in lockstep with the interests of the federal government.

The best way for the conscious user to preserve privacy & anonymity is to use a non-logging VPN in conjunction with Tor (don't forget to enable NoScript - and just to be safe, don't install Flash either.)

GPG for email encryption is a must, if you want to make sure no one's going to read it.

Needless to say this all needs to be done on Loonix. Mint is fine if you're not hyper-paranoid; Arch or Debian for the autistic turbonerds.

Yes, that's right. Debian is owned by the NSA (according to Assange).

The tools and language you listed are all owned by either the NSA or Red Hat. They are used copiously in the everyday tasks of analysts and sysadmins.

They need software too, ya know. No government has the manpower or desire to write and maintain their own operating system.

Even the world's fastest supercomputers run on Gahnoo Linux.
