Is eSATA even a thing anymore? Dunno how else you'd get >USB3 speeds to make an external SSD somewhat worthwhile. Then again, I guess if a flash drive gets big enough, technically it's a SSD.

If you are going to use it on a weekly basis, SSD.
If you are going to have periods where you don't use it for a month or more, HDD.
