I exclusively download FLAC for my music because I transcode to vorbis for my DAP.
Encodes should however use lossy audio unless the FLAC is the same size or smaller than the equivalent AC3/DTS track.
An encode by definiton is made to save space by using psychovisual and psychoacoustic algorithms to remove data that isn't perceptible by humans.
Including lossless audio with lossy video is contradictory and redundant.

Well okay, lets do the maths. If, by your reasoning a FLAC track is 2GB larger than it's lossy equivalent and the average internal 1080p encode is ~10GB, then that lossless track is giving me an increase of ~20% filesize.
Furthermore, if I download 100 movies (and I've downloaded many for than that) then I've just wasted 200GB of data on my redundant lossless audio to go with my lossy video.
