>>52516495
>>
>>52516553
Have you tried changing the battery?
The last good iPod nano was 5th gen. After they dropped the spinny wheel it just became a slightly cheaper but heavily gimped iPod touch.

Also if you're in aus check cex. Might be able to get a new unit pretty cheap.

My battery still lasts a couple of days I think, but it's not as good as it used to be.

My server is probably the oldest thing that sees continuous practical use, but I frequently swap around random artifacts from my collection, at the moment I'm DDing a 16 year old PowerBook G3/333 and I'm pleasantly surprised at how well it runs in a "modern" context.

Iphone 1st gen 8gb. Pic isn't mine.

Mine was given to me secondhand when I was in highschool from some friends living in France. We didn't get the 1G in my country. Came to my hands with a:
shattered glass and a partially fucked screen I never bothered to repair, I don't really need a pretty screen for music)
broken camera (don't need it anyways, (I gots proper SLR)
Couldn't get wifi on it. Well, It wouldn't be a nice experience to browse the web with the screen in such a state.
For some reason it jumbles up album covers once synchronized and never found a fix for this, I just stopped bothering.
What matters is the headphone jack was working and that stopped working recently. While walking I had to constantly reajust the jack position to keep it working, butn it has been my faithful player of choice for 5 years and as a result I have suffered for using itunes for that long now and I love music so much that I basically would use it for about five hours a day.
I guess it's time to say goodbye.

...I can't actually wait to get a new compact mp3 player and never have to use this again. It served me well certainly.

Work setup: IBM model M keyboard. Sharp Compet desktop calculator with mechanical keys and a VFD display. Compact VFD calculator for counting in the dark warehouse. The mouse is just for fun in this pic. I normally use a first gen Microsoft Intellimouse.

The only old stuff I use at home is an amp and speakers from the 1970's, and a white label model M.

I feel like these things would have been pretty popular for us back then.

Worst thing about the psp is that my mother took it away to motivate me to study for my year 12 exams, and then she forgot where she hid it. When I finally got it back the joystick would move on its own.

seeing how many apple devices are still alive and being used i would say build quality is just as if not important than specs, I'd rather have a $1200 unibody macbook with shit specs than an i7 stuffed into a shitty enclosure made out of plastic found in happy meal toys.

reading text on this screen gives me a slight headache after a while, but for games it's beautiful. I can turn down the resolution (i forgot what to) and push it to 140hz or 120hz (also forgot). Usually leave it at 1600x1200 75hz.
It's amazing for games, I use my laptop for studying and this for my games.

It is quite a good antenna. I think it's about as good as it can get reception-wise for a small indoor antenna. I think Radio Shack sold this particular model for a very long time - from the late 1960s all the way up to the early 1980s if I recall correctly - but despite this they don't seem very common. That said, they also don't seem to have a whole lot of competition for them on eBay when they do show up. I got mine pretty cheap (less than $20 shipped I think) and it even came in the original box, proudly marked "Made in USA" from the good old days of Radio Shack. I should take a picture of it with the original box one of these days.
>>52520401
I think they can fetch around $150-200 these days if in good condition and proper working order. They're among the lowest wattage and thus among the cheapest of the vintage Marantz receivers.
>>
>>52520548
Also one more thing about those antennas: they made them in two versions - one for FM radio and one for TV. I believe the only difference lies in the fine tuning dial in that the FM one is wired for most optimal VHF reception while the TV one is wired for both VHF and UHF reception with separated VHF and UHF connecting wires for connecting to old TVs that actually had separate VHF and UHF connections.

That reminds me, I'd like to pick up one of the TV versions but I keep forgetting to keep an eye out for one.
